Net spend over the last five years (not 2) is 5th but let’s not let that get in the way.

Net spend, yeah, fair enough.
But that's partly due to Ashley not investing in assets that were worth selling (for any decent money). So most of our recent dealings have beeen either purchades or releasing players. All the top teams sell players as well as buy. We just didn't have any to dell. We now do have assets that carry a market value, so it will be interesring to see if we do as Villa did with Grealish, in an attempt to grow longer term.

This I agree with.

Having said that we have not had to worry about teams buying our best players in the past as we didn’t really have any.

Now it’s different. At least 4 are good enough to get into top teams around the world.

I’ve just stated the possibilities we will never know which is the right answer.

Fact is though if we finish 8th it is likely below expectations with the owners given the amount spent.

Having said that I agree injuries have had a significant impact but we take it all into consideration.

Win and 7th is about right.
You seem overly obsessed about the amout we have spent.

The effect of the amount spent is affected by a number of other factors none of which you seem to ever mention or even take into account when commenting upon the amount spent.
1. The starting position. The quality of the squad just before we started spending. By way of example Man City could spend no money for 1 year and they will still have a better squad than us even if we spend £200M. Reason, their starting position quality wise is so far ahead of ours.
2. The amount spent by other teams in the same period. We araen't the only ones spending money. Again by way of example for this season we are 8th highest net spenders in the PL. Not surprisingly Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd,and Liverpool all spent net more than us.

Also agree with Obi, I cannot fathom how 7th is about right but 8th is an absolute disaster. Disappointing, yes. Below expectations, yes. But absolute disaster, no. This is the OTT response which would make us look like an absolute joke. The sort of comment which would no doubt get you on a Talk Sport phone in.

Anyway, I'm still looking for a win today and a Man City win in the FA Cup Final.

Indeed, that was my point. This will be a very interesting summer transfer window in terms if how it impacts us longer term, as well as short term.

Who pooped on your cereal this morning.

Chill the truck down man.

P.S 8th is a disaster. Figure of speech. Who really wants to be sensible these days. Everything has to be over dramatic these days.

That’s just how the kids roll these days.

And it’s me dream to be on talksport.

Everyone has to have dreams.

P.S if we finish 7th I will be happy.

I reckon we have two free transfers already lined up. Both are prem quality and will give us that defensive cover we desperately need.

Then we need to improve RW and a striker.
