Not how others are reporting it. Looks like we've been totally screwed over.

City just get a slap on the wrist for the previous stuff, having managed to get an advantage. But now they agree to play nicely because we have money.

Basically, the PL have said "but we've got your back, you're a big 6, if you challenge the rules then you're at risk so how about we let you have a bumper pay deal to comply with PSR, then you 'back down' to make sure Newcastle and Villa remain ****ed."

Disappointing but I do think people will start to see the rules for what they are - an attempt to stop, not just us but, anyone outside the dirty six teams bank rolling success. Anyone who tells you its anti competitive just get them to look at the expenditure and wage budgets for the teams at the top... As has been mentioned 100 times over - why is it unfair to put money into the club if it is ringfenced? If we buy a player for £200m and pay them £50m a year for 5 years, how can the Saudis be stopped from just investing £450m guaranteed money to cover the costs?

It's too early to know what's really going on... Remember the PL claimed a win last time and got caught lieing in the end.

Whatever the media peddle will favour masters side of events.

He's probably agreed to drop the 115.

But only for Man City, who now claim to "acknowledge the current rules". So basically they get away with then agree to close the door behind them.

It doesn't mean they're lawful it just mean something happened in way of agreement.. Man City appear to have simply agreed to drop it, but the question is why.

    1. They have been told drop it and we'll let the 115 go or a number of them.
    2. They realised they were going to lose and dropped it.

    My money is on 1....

Same mate. I think that's what they've agreed. Hence "no further comment" from either side.

It's, don't take us to court and then we won't give you a 20+ point penalty deduction.

Works for the PL because apt being removed blows psr out the water completely ( which ironically doesn’t suit man city entirely)

Man City walk free and the big 6 and psr survives... To the PL man city getting off is a smaller consequence.

Yep that's the crux of it... They will give them a punishment but of very little consequence.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Hopefully our new exec team will be all over this moving forward. I’d be agreeing commercial deals to sponsor literally everything that can be. New stadium, training ground, training kit etc. What’s to stop us signing £50m a year deals sponsor our training socks, £100m a season for someone else to put their logo on the training tops etc. if we can put a logo on Betty the Tea Lady’s coffee stained apron we should be ****ing all over it! Play these ****ers at their own game. Think outside the box and sponsor **** that’s never been sponsored before, that way they can’t say it’s not fair market value as it’s never been done before so we can set the benchmark!

I think I've simply accepted the rules and being what we are, which is the best or one of the best of the rest. If we get closer great, but it's overly consuming to be holding out for groundbreaking news that the rules are gone... If it ever happens great, but I don't think it will at this point.

I think the new CEO will be more 'on it' for that type of thing.
    :emoticon-0148-yes:

But as CC says, it's going to take a long time to break through the cartel, seeing as the EPL are part of it.

Ultimately there's still work that can be done to increase revenues and for us psr isn't worth worrying about for a while given the Isak sale.

It's all about Howe getting results on the pitch until the next window and next summer.

Newcastle is growing nicely despite the media making out like everythings **** and nobody knows what they're doing.. It's utter garbage.... Revenues gone up enormously, they've qualified for the champions league twice in 3 years, won a cup and are in a healthy psr position.

None of those muppets thought we'd be doing that so soon when the takeover went through.

APT must be able to reasonably be compared to deals others have made so if City get a huge deal how can the EPL argue us getting a similar deal isn’t fair.
