Strikers thrive off goals. I'd be happier if he went on to get a few to keep us up.

Beats the other option of strikers failing to score and finiding ourselves dragged back in to the possibility of relegation.
I'm with you hope he gains confidence and moves on from here ...wasn't averagely taken was a well taken pen under severe pressure Ole ole Tony Watt Watt Watt

I'm also with you super, although with no great optimism. He should be tearin up defences in this league, but strikers thrive on confidence and good service, and with two goals in te season, I imagine his confidence is shot to pieces.

Now, shall we discuss our play off hopes...<cheers>

Watt averages a goal in every 7.5 games for Charlton. Even accepting that he has played in largely rubbish sides, that is pathetic. In between his 3 poor spells with us, he has also flopped like Reams on Slim Plan at Cardiff, Blackburn and Hearts. Coincidence ?

He is a bad apple - don't make excuses for him.

Cant argue that he's an out and out goalscorer. But he scored last night and i sense he'll be relieved to have that monkey off his shoulder.

He's now responsible for pulling his finger out and hopefully scoring more goals to assist keeping us up. Today isn't the day to dig him out - lets hope he builds on it.

Whether you like him or not, he's one of 20 that decides our fate.

I wouldn't dig him out. Just not optimistic about him. If he gets his head down and produces the goods and keeps us safe he'll be gone anyway, just like anyone else in the shop window.

I don't understand the love he receives from fans, or the notion that he would be playing for Real Madrid if he worked hard. He's not very good, nor likeable, but I won't begrudge him getting a goal.

You can't moan about a striker not scoring, and then moan when he does score.

His celebration was a bit ****y though.

Love watching Tony Watt play it's only him and Holmes and Arribo that excite the rest
