I also think Norwich will save both our arses, but we need to get busy with shipping out the cowardly packs of fannies that have left us in this peril.

Seriously, I'd retain maybe 6 of our first team squad if it was my choice, and of those 3, Rose belongs to Spurs, Mignolet will be chased by much bigger boys, and Sess could easily be tempted away.

This season has been a ****ing scandal for us both, I do hope we both survive.

Swansea, they could save our bacon, eggs, chops, the lot tomorrow night.

Well said

I would feel a hell of a lot better going into the last 2 still having a 3 point cushion. A Swansea win tonight really is as good as a win for us!

It's a lottery down there, what an amazing end to the season at the other end of the table albeit 2/3 of the spots have been secured for months!

I watched the Sunderland vs Stoke game last night, Stoke have survived this season and we're all subjected to another year at least of them in this division. I can't see the justice but what can we do? Hopefully it will be Wigan that get dumped out of the league, a team who haven't even tried to do anything other than survive in this division.

Edit: A point worth mentioning, some QPR fans on here are suggesting they'd be happy to watch their side roll over and let Newcastle take 3 points. The reason being is they don't want a club of Newcastle's size in the NPC with them next season, given how they walked through it last time around. I can see 'Arry agreeing with this, starting his prep early for next season and protecting QPR's interests, Wigan would not be a worry for QPR.

I still believe a win at QPR and we're safe regardless of tonight's result. I don't see Norwich getting 4 points out of West Brom & City and for me they'll lose more heavily to City than we will to Arsenal. I actually think Norwich are clear favourites to go down.

Still won't stop me praying for a Swansea win tonight though!

Good point to be fair.

If I was MA & DL I'd promise Harry they job if we stay up, then if we do manage to stay up just go back on the deal as it would only be a verbal agreement <laugh> God I'm desperate for us to stay up by any means possible <laugh>

I hope for both our sakes it doesn't come down to Villa needing to beat Wigan for us both to stay up as I cannot see Villa breaking into a sweat to do either of our teams a favour. Lambert obviously has a thing about Di Canio but I don't know why there's such vitriol from the Villa towards you lot.

A better promise to make them would be that if they gave you 3 points you'd be happy to take one of their players off them to help them out financially, or agree a loan deal or two for a couple of your squad players.

I hope Wigan Athletic lose tonight and end up back where they belong. Horrible, ****ty little club that is owned by senile old tit. Play good football my arse. If they did they'd be top 6. Martinez is also one of the most overrated managers in the league. Come on Swansea.

SAFC & NUFC fans united as one until 10pm tonight

Come on!!!!

I love the way that Wigan think that are some sort of romantic team that always seems to rise out of the fire at the death of the season. Do they not know that the vast majority of fans of any team in the Premier League hate them with a passion. Arsehole of a Chairman and a manager that thinks he is Jose Mourinho in waiting!! You are not mate, you are a guy that is only capable of getting his team to finish 16th every year at best!! Even if we go down this year your poxy club will never, ever, ever finish as high as we did last year or in previous years. Do the decent thing and bugger off back down to the Championship or League 1, where you bloody belong!!<cracker>

I have to agree with Sir Bob about Wigan - I also I think Martinez would be a great manager for you lot; especially if Ashley doesn't dry up the flow of cash once he gives his pal the push. Agree that the Wigan chairman is a knob though.

Wigan or us to go down? It's got to be Wigan, no choice.

Plenty of rep for the Swansea visitors to our board if they do us a good turn tonight.

Obviously we all want Wigan to go down mate because it'll mean we're safe. I just think to call Wigan lucky is a bit disrespectful. Any team that stays in the league on their budget year after year should be admired.

Also don't understand the people that knock Martinez, his performance when meausred against the budget available to him probably makes him the most successful manager in the premier league every year.

Still I hope Swansea grab three vital points for us tonight <ok>

Norwich Fan here - a very nervous one!

I cant see where any more points are coming from for us but I am hoping for a win against West Brom although a 0-0 draw is probably more likely with Hughtons tactics.

I am praying that Swansea do us all a favour tonight - I think there are lots of extra fans supporting them tonight. All I know is I would much rather they went down than anyone else - with the exception of Villa but I think that ship has sailed!

To be honest, much of the vitriol against Wigan comes from the McManaman tackle and the club's stance on the incident where both manager and chairman let themselves down in the eyes of most people.

Personally I don't mind Wigan and like the way Martinez approaches the game, if there was a footballing god I'd love him to cast Villa assunder as retribution for their disgusting behaviour when we got relegated. If this can't be done then I'm not bothered who goes down providing it's not us.

Couldn't agree more <ok>

Sorry but nothing lucky about Wigan, they don't sit back and scrape lucky 1-0 wins. If they go ahead they don't try and see the game out, they're an attacking side that are always capable of scoring and if they stay up it'll be because they deserve too.

Did they require a huge slice of luck to beat us? Yes. Were they extremely lucky Gomez wasn't sent off after about 60 mins against Spurs? Yes.

I appreciate Martinez has his team playing better than us (but honestly - how hard is that?), but without that luck against us there would be a further 3 points between us and them, and we'd be as good as safe.

Perfectly put! <ok>

Were we lucky to beat West Brom in the last minute with a goal off Cisse's ass? Yes. Were we lucky away at Reading with Demba's hand grabbing an equaliser? Yes. It's swings and roundabouts for me and more often than not it does get evened out. Some of our displays this year have been the worst I've witnessed as an NUFC fan so it's not hard for them to be playing better than us. I just think to call them lucky is incorrect. Is it luck to come from behind twice when away from home and win or is it graft and team spirit? Can't remember the last time we come from behind twice in the same game to win.
