One thing I've noticed this transfer window is how far behind Sky now are reporting transfers. They used to be one of the first to break the news but now here nearly always last.
Interesting that some reports are saying Villa cant afford his 70k wages. There's no way we'll be offering him 70k wages either, not even close. Wonder if he'd be willing to accept 30-40k wages but play every game?
No player is going to take a 50% pay cut to move from Man United to Hull City. I hope his wages stop us signing him, he's not what we need at all.
I think we need energy in midfield. We don't have anything of note beyond the starting line up. He's young and I trust SB to be far more aware at what he needs going forward. Also, shame Ibe went to Derby as he would have been a great snodders replacement on loan. But I can see why he wouldn't be allowed to come here.
Hope it's not true but..... If we do then one or two of us on here will have to dig deep into our I-Spy book of U-turns. I'll start. Was never a big fan when he was at United but to be honest he's a tidy little player who can do a job. Don't forget injuries and suspensions can be costly. Extra man could be invaluable. Games add up as the season develops. Big squads are important as players get tired. We need an experienced midfield workhorse. Feel free to add your own U-turns.
He will be gone by Monday. Question is where. He is the stereotypical scape goat, but if you can push aside the prejudice he is a worthy addition to our squad.
Cleverley for man-u or england doesnt look good enough and looks like he's lacking confidence, cant blame him really, he knows what ppl think of him.. but if he moved to a smaller club like ours he could maybe reach his potential and be a decent player. he is different to huddlestone & livermore, it would definitely give us more options as to how we set up the team.
The way Bruce talking it sounds a long shot to me. More like we have jumped on the bus and don't know where it is going. Also sends out some signals our interest in the Chelsea midfielder is maybe a little optimistic?
Has Mr Allam got a secret billionaire partner backing him ? Hopefully this will mean we might just go flat out to win the league cup this season with all the players we are suppose to be buying .
There is a player in there. He was excellent at Wigan, which is why Fergie backed him to shine at United. Confidence, pressure, expectation and playing in a team that was shot to bits - all could have been factors. I reckon from his point of view he might rather be out of the limelight in a team abroad, but he would flourish in a team that's tight knit - like us. His next move is also a test of character. I'd take him. I don't think he'll end up here, but good luck to him.
