Reckon that’ll be Mitrovic banned and that useless fat **** who had his one world-class game a season at their place will be in again.

Normally points deductions are applied immediately. They might get away with it due to the virus this season. By September there may be a queue of bankrupt clubs...

Just to add confusion the FA (or FL?) have to decide as technically the rules say anyone going into admin after March has it applied next season.

Just read...if they are not in bottom 3 it applies this season

If they are in bottom three it applies next season.
If applied this very moment they would still be outside the bottom 3 on GD...so they will be fighting for their lives when we play them next week.

They'd be bottom on 38 points, four points from safety

I'm confused (easily done)

Does that mean that the penalty can't be used to relegate them?

In other words if they are above the bottom 3 after the matches are completed, the points deduction can only be applied in 20/21 and they stay in the Championship?

No, the exact opposite, Stortford. If they finish above relegation they then get the reduction, if they go down without the reduction they therefore start in league one with the reduction.

I think it’s so a team going down anyway don’t just take the chance to get some debt out the way. In theory any team outside the bottom three would rather defer it to next season which isn’t really the case.

Makes sense

Sounds like they've secured one relegation spot then

Disappointing if that keeps Stoke up

I still think there may be a number of clubs in the same position and 'extenuating circumstances' may save all of them. So many clubs on the brink before this all happened it would be unfair for any club to face such a penalty...

Bournemouth concede a sloppy early goal and look like dead men walking. Leicester have really lost their mojo 1-0 down at Everton, they were way clear in 3rd place before the break but now have 3 teams breathing down their necks, it'll be an epic fail if they don't make the Champion's League places...
