Leeds v Man City was an absolute belter! What an advert for open, end to end football. Fantastic to watch as a neutral.
Two goals for Callum Wilson tonight. I meant to sign him for my fantasy team, but signed Callum Robinson instead.
Just watching the highlights. Could be 4-4, and good for Leeds as they could have been several down in the first 20 minutes by the look of it. Some shocking defending though. Kyle Walker looks shot at this level. According to the commentator after their poor start to the season Sean Dyche feels that refereeing decisions are not going his team’s way. Well there’s a surprise.
It was an absolute pleasure to watch. I thought the writing was on the wall for leeds in the first 25 mins but they were the better team in the 2nd half. I bet the paying customers are gutted they couldnt see that live.
There were a couple of occasions, even in the highlights, where you could see that the Leeds players will do what Bielsa tells them, religiously. They looked dodgy in the first 20 minutes because the keeper and defenders were passing it around at the back and cocking it up a lot. But they refused to revert to wellying it out. Then I saw, in the second half, something really odd - City were attacking and in Leeds’ box with a few defenders. A Leeds midfielder sprinted back and took up a position on the edge of the box, on the wrong side of play, made no attempt to chase the ball or mark anyone, and soon turned his back on play and maintained his position in the ‘d’. Really weird. I thought either he has been told to do that or he is an idiot. But I can’t figure out why he would be instructed to do that.
Probably. If so the discipline and self control required not to help out your defence when the opposition looked very likely to score is immense.
One punter needed Brentford to beat Pne 3- 0 & Scott Sinclair has scored for Preston, its Brentford 2 PNE 1 £1m out the window
manure v spuds is interesting. 3-1 to spuds and a manure player sent off according to savage the manure defending is none existant
