scratched my head when he checked back, thought it much easier to have a shot on goal. Don't know his success rate when 1 on 1 with the goalie, but I guess it's poor

They were playing a team that would probably struggle in the Conference North. Can only beat what’s in front of you but even for Scotland it would’ve been a new low.

I'm pleased for Lawrence Shankland scoring on his debut - he played for my local team before moving to Ayr and scoring 34 goals in 41 games last season, and now at Dundee United has scored 13 goals in 8 games already this season.

I passed him on to my pal who is one of the U18s scouts at the club at the beginning of last season to flag him up for the first team scouts - we could've got him for about £50K, but no idea if anyone went to see him.....he's only 23 so plenty of time to progress, and he's come on so much since playing with better players.
