Despite playing just 17 times for Rangers this term, Cantwell has been one of the club's standout performers, which says as much about the Ibrox club's season as it does the midfielder's immediate impact. The 25-year-old will be an integral part of Beale's side going forward.

Smith benched Maddison and Barnes for the must win game, but they managed a point which could be vital
Means that Everton will survive and Leicester and Leeds will both be relegated if Everton draw at home to Bournemouth in the final round. Having already secured their own survival, I doubt if Bournemouth are going to be fully up for it. And anyway, when Everton are in this position, opposition goalkeepers seem to have a habit of diving over goal bound shots which they could easily save ..............

Not sure who we want to come down from an NCFC perspective. Presumably Everton will be in the biggest difficulty financially, they've not got relegation wage clauses and very few assets of significant value to sell.

Everton need to win to guarantee survival. If they draw and Leicester win, they're both on 34 points and Leicester have the better goal difference.

Yes, you are right, Gozo. I"d got the two GDs wrong way round. If Dean Smith manages to keep Leicester up and consigns Everton to relegation, that will be a great outcome. But I can't say it's what I'm expecting.

It will be great for Smith, who probably was 'pragmatic' in that game at Newcastle. Figured he stood very little chance of winning it, so played safe and got a draw, believing he could beat West Ham in the final home game because WH will be totally focused on the Euro final. Then it's up to Bournemouth to save him.

The only reason I would want Leicester to stay up ahead of the others is that it could mean they demand more for Maddison and we get more of a payout as a result

I thought I read somewhere that Luton would not be allowed in Premier League, because of their inadequate stadium.

Did I dream it?

I wanted Luton to go up when I saw how awful we were.

They need to spend 10 million to make their stadium usable by the Prem next year and have a new one being built, due to be finished in 2024 I think

Luton were ruthlessly kicked out of the league over financial problems with a ridiculous points deduction, where other sides get away with fines & they managed to climb the leagues on a shoestring budget being fan owned .

Good for them , the snobbery from fans of Premier league teams will be unbearable.
