Yes, thoroughly deserved too. Rode their luck at the end. Cantwell played pretty well, complete with occasional Emi-like histrionics.
So-so, he was certainly causing the opposition problems and driving at them. Sometimes I thought he was a little too deep in his positioning especially the last 5 mins when he would have been more useful further forward. Some of his passes were a bit floaty, not as crisp as you would like, but you'll get that from lack of match practice. He did one real good jinking run in the box that went for a corner. Another time was totally crunched in a tackle, but give him credit he got back up straight away and kept going.
Not much to shout about, considering they lost to fifth tier Boreham Wood. Embarrassing in the extreme.
Burnley v Watford I thought both teams looked awful. Not sure how much a howling wind contributed to that. Neither of them looked capable of stringing together a couple of passes.
Dennis has scored for Southend, almost a forgotten player. Morris, Raggett and Pritchard also have scored. Good night for ex players.
Watford losing Burnley drawing. Newcastle 2-1 which puts us in bottom 3 but drags Everton into the ****
3-1 Newcastle now. Are they getting good quicker than we'd hoped, or are Everton really, really ****?
One of roughest games I've ever seen judging by the parts I saw. I think it's both things you mentioned. Everton are really, really ****, and Newcastle will be much better the rest of the season. Saint Maximum was an all-star player today. Trippier has been excellent since he joined NU. We just have to do what we can do. BTW Burnley got a point against Man U.
