Some interesting posts on here...and the odd stupid one. Seems that impatience may be creeping in for some of us. Let's be honest we all would have taken this if offered at the start of the season, yet it appears that anything other than complete perfection will not do for some of us.
The reaction to yesterday's game is a case in point. It would be lovely to win by four or five against a team with ten men, but that rarely happens (remember last season?). Yesterday we kept to a game plan, played the ball around and retained possession. Listen to Powell and you know what to expect; this is how he wants us to play.
All players will suffer a dip in form, make mistakes, get things wrong, especially at this level. Even after a win some of us look to the negatives rather than the many positives.
Hamer will be given time to establish himself as the new no.1 (I thought his save from Vine yesterday that led to Nardiello's chance was decent).
Solly has come on leaps and bounds now he has a manager who has faith.
Morrison and Taylor look pretty solid to me. Both good signings.
Stephens and Hollands have skill and tenacity but will be expected to run their socks off as they are the the hub of our team.
Hayes will get stick if his touches don't come off but he has formed a great partnership with BWP.

Add to this the Carling cup success with a second string and things look rosy. Don't they...?

    Well said Sirjohn <ok>

After all, you know what they say about teams that win when not playing particularly well...

    Job done

We have played badly twice in 6 days but still got 4 points .... Not too bad IMO

Killer made the point in his column that to get out of this division you need win after win after win. Are we good enough? I think it depends on how CP manages the extremely difficult job of getting the best out of a big squad, and not surprisingly we have different opinions about how to do this. If our second string play as well on Tuesday as they did against Reading we can have some more interesting exchanges on this topic!

I haven't had chance to add my two happeth since the match, in laws arrived by the time we got back and family birthday today - so apologies for the late contribution. In terms of performance it wasn't our best or by any means our worst performance. From last Monday's match we had learned not to over react to the long ball game played against us rarely looked threatened. The goal that wasn't did not appear to have completely crossed the line from I sit in the NWQ and from watching the FL show on record today not 100% of the ball wa over the line, possibly greater than 70% but not 100%. Worried about Hamer slipping though and would have thought at a home match we would know the condition of the pitch.

Solly was definitely the MOTM for me and agree with most that Hayes had a mare, which wasn't helped by us getting on his back. If he comes through this and plays well next time we will all forgive and forget, but personally I think CP left him on to long. I assume the evicted Exeter fans had been racially abusing one of our player and in the same way that the ref got the decision over Nardiello right, I hope the stewards dealt with the eviction effectively by giving them a permanent red card.

The ref was certainly one of the better one's we have seen this season and I hope that the report on him was good.

What did anyone think of Pritchard when he came on? I thought he looked lightweight against the rest on the field and whilst he may have the skill was to easily muscled off the ball.
