Tiger Thanks for the offer but I have an arrangement like that. Its just my health needs at present which don't let me move from home. Hospital next week for further tests and decisions to be made. Ill be in touch and see what we can do then. PS I'm not too bad just a bit of a set back which can be sorted I'm told.

It was a direct reference to a comment about the west stand where a few scattered are less likely to sing than a group. It was simply a thought.

Nobody's condemning anything, it's more a discussion on possible ways improving what is seen as a poor atmosphere. The east stand/north stand thing's been on the go for a few seasons. at best it's good for the odd chant. IF it can be heard. We could do with something more robust in my opinion.
 
Hope I get invited to fans group meeting thing so I can say a huge thanks for letting home fans have the North Stand.

Bloody loved being in N4 among loads of singers.
Everyone being posative and hearing many comment on how much they liked the view and the move with a number saying they had been against Said move but were suprised how good it was .

The fans around me were all great as well .

It was just like being back on bunkers in the old days and even like being behind the goal at Wembley .

BOTH juniors said this was the best stand they have been in .

So who ever was behind the move a big thanks from me.

Isn't this pretty simple? If you are in the East Stand, like I am, you will think the atmosphere was diminished because the stand as a whole had fewer singers and was quieter. And if you were in north or west, you will think it was louder due to greater proximity to a singing core.

The away fans were quieter, I thought. Dunno if the new layout was the cause of that, but it seems likely as Stoke are normally quite rowdy.

I think that's a myth really.
 
A number of stokies got lobbed out of north stand Nearest section to home fans .

Maybe that kept a few of them silent

Yesterday showed us the problems with the new seating arrangements. We can choose to ignore them, or like WhittlingStick suggested we find ways around them.

It would appear we have 4 areas where there are singers. E4-E6, N4, N2 and the South West corner. Having a East Stand, South Stand, North Stand chant means we need it to be co-ordinated. When I was in the South Stand there was a gap of a second or two between the North East corner singing and the sound hitting the South Stand. It usually sounded muffled as well. The only way it would work is visually with choir masters co-ordinating the singing. I'm not sure a megaphone would work either. I like watching foreign fans on Youtube but hope we can achieve something which has a unique Hull stamp on it.

If you throw in a noisy away section you begin to see the problems linking up our support, especially if we are losing. The obvious route would be North, West, South, East back to North but that would be like asking for a miracle.

Asking people to sing longer is a solution but it needs a lot more discipline then we've shown at home in the past. Our songs dying out has been a problem for years. Its one of the reasons I moved from the South to the East. Just as I got a few people singing in the South West corner the song would stop. You need all your singers in one place to develop that discipline. It doesn't develop overnight either.

Another problem I see is keeping our sense of humour songs, like Are you Grimsby in disguise at Newcastle, where's your dummy gone against QPR, etc. When they started in the North East corner it was easy to build momentum because all the singers were more or less together. If they start in E4 its unlikely the North Stand will be able to pick it up. Same for the songs starting in the North. I think they are unique in the Premier League and are far more humorous than the Stevie Gerrard one.

Sitting at home on the keyboard isn't going to sort out our problems. Nor is having a go at DMD when he raises some very valid points.

What we need is solutions. A starting point would be to get some people together from N2, N4, E4 and the South Stand together to discuss how we overcome our problems and turn the KC into something like the Baseball Ground in the early 1970s. If you don't know what I mean imagine the whole ground, including all the West Stand, singing in unison.
 
Lets all agree its a good start and hopefully when we have a full 11 and are going at teams and having shots then it will get better and better we may be now split but its great that once we get going we are all has one having a good atmosphere must really help the team we all know that. The aim now is to get an even better atmosphere at our next home game and hopefully with the singers more spread out more and more will join in

By asking West Stand pass holders whether the club should encourage a singing section in the West Stand. If there was sufficient interest, look at creating a singing section which would cause the least disruption to other pass holders. where there's a will there's usually a way. Three seasons past there was the beginnings of a singing section in the South West corner, small acorns but still acorns. The creation of the family stand cut across that.
 
OK. I'd be up for that, but the only problem is, it will be stuffed away on the end somewhere, and I ****ing love the present view I have, right above the halfway line!
 
I think what would add to it would be a song and more of a build 5 mins before the game, half of our crowd rush in last minute
 
That was what was good about the Trencin game; because of the unreserved seating, more people got in a bit earlier and that helped get the atmosphere started. Difficult to replicate that for a Premier League game I guess, and let's face it, the beer etc isn't going to entice too many to get in early is it. Bring back the Hull City giants, that's what I say :biggrin:

The noise levels of both the home games have improved this season. I sat in the South stand for the Trenchin game and it was good. i sat in the North yesterday and it was like being at the qpr game the previous week.

I've not read this whole thread, so I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned previously but following on from what you mentioned in your post, I wonder if it started in the North, then went to the East before the South, whether at least some in the West would join in and eventually more would join in?

I noticed on Sunday that when North and East were going backwards and forwards, there wasn't any gap left in between for either of the other two stands to join in.

I might be wrong but think it's worth a try and although it might take a few games to catch on, I think eventually it might just encourage a lot more in the West to find their voice, even if it is only for that one chant. The North would just have to hold off a few seconds to allow the West to have a go after the South have finished. It might be a bit weak and feeble to start with but I really do think it could catch on given a chance.
