Should we sack Ange now?

There is only sense in keeping him in his post if the club has decided to keep him on next year if we win the EL.

This would be an act of rank stupidity imo, but I wouldn't put it past the clowns who run our club to see it as a logical move.

If on the other hand it has been decided that regardless of our fate in the EL, he is gone in the summer, this leads to perhaps an even more worrying conclusion:

The club has decided that he is the wrong man for the job, and is nevertheless entrusting a chance to win our first trophy in 27 years and first European trophy in over a generation to a man who is, and I quote, the wrong man for the job.

Levy has well and truly snookered himself this season.

I agree and have often said, the second Levy decides Ange isn’t the right man then Ange should be fired.

Nothing would surprise me with Spurs and the decisions they make regarding managers or players.

There must be a case to be made for keeping him until the Europa is done. The disruption that comes from a change in manager is too much, we were critical of the timing of Mourinho's removal (iirc) and the same applies here. We have a real chance of the final now, and nothing should get in the way. Then, I'm afraid, we need a new manager.

He does still seem to be very popular amongst the players, something Mourinho and Conte were not. They might resent someone else coming in, unless it is an appointment from within like Mason.

The obvious fear for Levy is that if he puts Mason in charge for what could be no more than 2 games and it goes wrong, there will probably be riots outside the stadium.

There isn't time for an external appointment. They'd barely have finished introducing themselves before the first leg.

The time to sack Ange has been and gone. The time to do it imo was after the Leicester defeat, Fulham at a push as it was before the international break.

Right but it was Fabio who pushed for us to hire Conte, which worked out to be the disaster we all predicted from the off.

Depends on how you’d truly define disaster.

Got us 4th after half and season and was sacked when we were 4th in the table (albeit heading towards 5th/6th). The football was boring, he was a moany bastard and I wasn’t sad to see him go but I reckon we’re seeing what a true disaster is right now.

Conte was the pre-flop

Ange was brought in to perform the Harry Redknapp role of putting an arm around players while have us playing on the front foot again because Conte had demoralised the players that badly - the difference being Redknapp didn't derail the team due to his ego until the England job opened up, while Ange's ego has derailed the team since about October

Ain’t just his ego though, he’s just a fish out of water at this level.

Even our progress in Europa has been despite of him after he actively made it tough on the squad with his league phase selection.

I’ve not enjoyed the football recent managers have had us playing but I don’t think I’ve looked at a Spurs manager and thought “you’re actually pure ****” as much as I have with Postecoglou.

It’ll almost be some warped version of Spursy that he actually “oversees” us winning our next trophy.
