I thought this was an interesting article.
1. Wenger has faith in Giroud.
2. Ideally the striker we get will be able to play both "With and without Giroud."
3. Wenger hasn't ruled out playing a 442.
4. Gnabry IS seen by Wenger as Walcott's replacement and may start.
5. Wenger would buy a striker that fits point 2 in January, because he would like to rest Giroud more.

I couldn't have Newcastle away as a non-tricky game to be fair even for a side with as much talent as Man Citys, before the defeat to us they had decent home form.

I just don't think that the striker we want is available at the moment, January is always a tough time to try and get deals done. Ideally i would take Balotelli, yes he has had his critics but i believe he would do a great job for us. His mentality has been called into question yes, but when he was at city the dressing room was not stable and their was alot of pressure on both the manager and the team as a whole. At Arsenal we have a happy dressing room and a clear goal of what we want to achieve and i could see him fitting well into our system.

Ha, oddly enough I brought up the Balotelli idea with a chap at work this morning. Douche-baggishness aside he's a brilliant player. Big, strong and fast. Technically he's excellent and most importantly he's capable of individual moments of brilliance that can win games. I also mooted that Milan, as things stand, have literally nothing to play for. They're not going down, they're not going to qualify for the Champions League (you'd think anyway) and confidence is at an all time low following the manager sacking. This is a perfect opportunity to buy a brilliant player for a reasonable (as these thigns go) price.
Balotelli certainly has his baggage but I think at Arsenal he'd be the main man up front and would thrive off that.

Agreed with you both, Balotelli is a douche bag but he's a very fine playing douche bag. He is one of the best strikers in the world and can produce that something special that none of our strikers can pull off, bless their souls.
Bless him, he is a good player but sadly not in the same skill/genius bracket as the Balotelli's. What he is hard working, committed and attitude free!
I think if Balotelli had done exactly the same thing then everybody would be talking about his genius.
Giroud doesn't seem to get credit for anything he does. PeterRick says it perfectly; people would have thought that, "Balotelli would have meant Giroud's second touch last night!"

Watch Messi with the ball, it regularly luckily bounces of him as he goes past a player. I culdn't care less how much people think he meant it, it was fantastically taken by Giroud.
You're asking if anyone knows why a made up statement by TT generalising all Arsenal fans would be true?
Yep, all players need a bit of luck here and there. Sometimes those balls bounce up off of your knee and you lose possession, but what counts is Giroud's finish, it was straight out of the top drawer
I don't think we'd see the same attitude he had at City. They had too many top strikers and the competition pissed off Balotelli with his ego. At Arsenal he'd be top dog no doubt.

I did not make up what PeterRick said, I even quoted him. It was a perfectly serious point asking why Giroud doesn't get credit. I just can't see how you can take offence.
You said 'people' would have thought, not just 'PeterRick' would have thought. Anyway, yes, I'll concede I was a bit prematurely aggressive so I'll apologise for that.
Anyway, I've been impressed by Giroud lately. But we still need someone better. I know you love the use of arbitrary words like 'better' when describing players
So yes, I want someone betterer than Giroud.
Giroud gets credit. He gets credit for his work rate, his team work and his prettiness. However, he's not the best finisher in the world (he's ok mind) nor is he the quickest (and then some) nor is his technique up there with the very best (though it is good). Therefore goals like last night aren't the norm, though they are very much appreciated! I like him, I think he's a really good player and that he'd be a useful addition to almost any team.

I agree. Not a bad player at all and is a very good asset to our team, but he really shouldn't be first choice for a team of Arsenal's calibre or aspirations.
I have a strong suspicion that Giroud is going to be another Ramsey situation where egg is going to be liberally distributed onto many people facially.
