When going to a penalty kick shoot out or into extra time, all rules of common courtesy and honourably playing football, do no longer apply, it's about winning in any way you can. Us Dutch are ironically playing like the Germans did in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Where did your English manners got you in the WC in the past 40 years anyways? Oh right, nowhere.

still recall us putting the ball out of play when the Costa Ricans lay on the pitch injured. And by the way: did Krul bite someone in the neck? Did he make a leg breaking tackle? Did plant his fist/elbow/foot in someone's face? Did he plant a knee in someone's back? Did he fight, spit, make racist remarks, discriminate, swear, insult or threaten anyone? No.

He said said to some players from up close that he knew where they were going to put the ball, and he got it right 5 out of 5. What the hell is the issue here?!

**** class, cheating happens everywhere, grow up. I'm gonna give LVG a call to start bribing the referee for the Argentina match, if we really are cheating bastards then it doesn't matter anyways.

So you condone diving and foul play?

I personally thought Krul last night was just using gamesmanship which was fine. But if you approve of winning using the tactics in the above pictures of Robben and De Jong then you're part of the problem.

Oh im sorry, here was me thinking that football was actually supposed to be about who was the more skillful team with the greater ability to put the ball in the back of the net. Silly me, of course we should just brush over the gamesmanship and cheating as "thats what you have to do to get the game won".

Hate diving, and De Jong deserved a 3 month ban for kicking that Spaniard in the heart, never condone it, but I'm not that naive to think you can simply banish it from the game when it can get you a world cup or champions league title. Class, sportsmanship and whatever type of fair play you want to drag into it will not win you a title. Class, luck, effort, sound tactics, winning mentallity and a gelled team will. You can always show sportmanship when you're winning.

If Krul is here next year he can do that **** as much as likes as long as we win. If he did it in the Derby in the last minute and tipped it around the post giving us the victory no one would be saying anything save how much a legend he is. Christ, it's not like he slapped the CR players or spat in their face. Did he look a bit of a phallus while doing it? Yeah of course but it worked to a degree.

I think it was how much he filled the goal rather than his verbal antics which swung the shootout anyway.

Never bothers his arse to save or even look like saving a penalty here in 8 years! Still pleased for him. I blame our keeping coach. And of course Pardew, because it is fashionable.

I would like to nominate Tim Krul the Dutch keeper as the "Complete Asshole of Brazil 2014" for his aggressive, bullying tactics during the penalty shoot out.

And a dishonourable mention for the bastard in the black, who allowed him to get away with it.

theres nothing wrong with what he did, he didnt make any racist remarks didn't lay a hand on them so dont see how it can be classed as agrressive and bullying as long as the keepers on the line when the penalty takers ready i see nothing to complain about,

So when a visiting Premier league keeper does the same at St James Park, and you miss the penalty, will you just accept it? Like hell you will. You'll all moan for weeks!

Its very rare that a visiting keeper doesn't try and put the penalty taker off these days. They virtually all wave their arms about, shout at the penalty taker, take ages getting on their line, usually come back off the line to complain about the position of the ball, take an age to get back again, point to where they are going to dive or where they want the bal to be kicked and then most move well off their line before the pen is taken.

The reason its so rare is that we're no different to any other ground up and down the country. I cannot understand why anybody thinks this is an issue. Do the same people complain when the penalty taker hesitates in his run up, or even stops and starts again (against the rules), or when their players wind opponents up by being in their ear all through a game? Of course they don't - they know its just part of the mental side of the game. That's why the vast majority of professional players who have commentated on it have said they have no issue with it, and that its exactly what they'd want their keeper to do. As has already been said, Joe Hart did it and nobody complained.

Is this a serious conversation, I thought folk were just having a laugh. He acted like a right twat. It worked. If the referee does not mind, then why should Krul? Honour/integrity? That went out the professional game a long time ago which is hardly surprising given the twats who run the game.
