All I know is that anyone organising something and I'd be willing to help has to start now. I was involved in a small way with the protests against the name change but that was a couple of hundred people at the most and didnt really work. The situation is a lot more serious now and, with good publicity could be effective. Red cards have been done, tennis/squash balls done. Has to be something involving the whole support, those who attend and those who have stopped going.
We should be stepping up the protests against the amount of protest threads. Maybe somebody could set up a pole to determine how many protest threads we should have at any one time. Obviously not on this protest thread, this is to protest about the number of protest threads & is in no way a protest poll.
It has to be something that will piss sky off. Allam HQ will be sat pissing themselves at a load of people stood outside of something they've paid to attend.
I'm still ****ing camped outside Allams mansion waiting for Chazz to do his shift and people are saying we have done nothing.
The protest groups have been tweeting about having something planned for a few weeks, with particular reference to the transfer window. I'd be amazed if they didn't pull some kind of stunt some time soon.
On a serious note, myself and Dennis boycotted a couple of seasons ago and lasted 5 home games, We are 2 left of original 5 who we all thought had our seats in E2 for life. Even though we hadn't reached 50 yo, we would still talk about putting name plates on seats for any of us who departed. We had all done 40 years and had no reason to suspect that anything would ever change that. I do think moving E1/2 was the turning point and a master stroke from Allams. That area was predominantly Kempton boys from Boothferry Park era, and probably 100% 'No' voters to the name change. They sneaked it through straight after the fa cup final. It was the end of a season of protests vs name change and so unless people were directly bothered, no one gave a **** about a few moving seats. I think we lost the soul of what was Hull City at that point. Many didn't renew, but it also totally supressed any energy that that area did create. For me supporting City was never the same after that.
Just don't go. This is the only way now. Support Hull City by not going to games. I promise you this would affect the Allams more than anything else you could do. Should the attendance go under 1000, they'd be in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Embarrass them in a big way and they will go.
The people I know that don't go now are nearly all long time supporters . Of course that's just the folk I know . # I use to think how could anyone stop going. For me I had to get a footy fix and living 5 miles from Scarborough I thought why not try going to a game. And no one is more surprised then me that I actually love going to Scarborough games
