From the Del Boys.

The whole situation has been going on for months and baring a loan and few rumours, we are no further forward than we were at the start of it all.

Donald has said they are not interested in fully buying the club, and they haven't disputed that.

The way us supporters have been carrying on is like we are desperately trying to get with a girl who is no longer interested. We need to move on, and focus on what we actually have.

We are 1 point of the playoffs, and if we beat Wycombe on Saturday, we have an outside chance of the automatic spots.

Let's just get on with supporting our team out of this division, and let the rest take care of itself.

If Donald hasn't got the finance for the championship, he will sell up then anyway. But let's stop trying to be accountants and solicitors, going over the clubs shares etc. And go back to what we've always been.... Supporters.

I'm very interested in the long term future of my club and the plans any owners have for it. That being said, at this point, it doesn't really matter if ownership and management stays in place until the end of the season. I'm willing to back the team and see where we are at the end of the season to judge again.
 
I... completely agree! Best for everyone if we move on, because everything will feel disappointing when compared with Dell owning a majority, which now looks like it was never a realistic outcome for many years if ever.

Everything is good when it is warm and the sun shines, and your team is winning football matches.

Everything is sh1ty when its cold and wet and your team is losing football matches

SD, does need to sell cos he does not have the funds to take us forward... whether he sells to the Dell boys or somebody else fcuk knows

Although winning football matches should make new investors keener.

So the priority is to win football matches by any means!

We still have no idea of their intentions, apart from what SD has said.

The trouble with what he has said contradicts what he has said previously. So we are completely in the dark.

Im staying positive that they are interested, but need someone to run the club for them like Levy does for Joe Lewis at Spurs
 
This is more or less what I was alluding to yesterday on the SD to sell thread.

If any combination of the Americans were genuinely interested in owning SAFC, they would have done so by now.

For all our sakes, it's best we forget all about the pipe dream of Dell ownership and move on.
 
I’d imagine even with promotion this season we’d be left with the same problems ie recruitment

If, and it’s a big if, we go up we’d have to invest to be competitive in that league, unfortunately the current recruitment team have a poor track record so this would have to be addressed regardless of ownership

Good post. It was canny getting to dream about being loaded etc but, truth be told, even if they do stay at the table it looks highly unlikely that they're the type to go buying stars and firing us up the league. Personal wealth means nothing, other than potentially being a canny buffer against financial issues down the line, if they aren't prepared to spend it! If they do really want to own SAFC, make us mint, invest in the area etc they're taking a long time about it, and it would be odd for Donald to come out and say so categorically that they won't be buying us.

My concern is that many (most) of us, including myself if I'm honest, were in favour of Donald leaving because I thought we had good, rich backers waiting in the wings to take over. If this isn't the case I'm not saying I'm dead keen on Donald staying (there's still a lot to improve on and he needs to start getting it right on the pitch from this window onwards which I don't think he is capable of) but I'm a lot more anxious about the tone of the Donald out campaign. We need to hope someone decent comes in, hopefully not another Campbell, but I'll be anxious that we might end up going to someone worse.
