I don't get how you see any difference in the position, NCFC-wise, of Pinto and Klose.
Surely they've both been marginalised, pushed to one side by the form of replacement players and Farke's fairly dogged selection policy. Both players love the club and the area (who wouldn't with Cley and Cromer half an hour down the road <ok>) and seem fairly happy to still be involved at some level in a promotion winning squad.
But 'her indoors', agents, desire for more playing time, earning capacity, the lure of pastures new are all going to be factors - especially once the player is reaching the end of his career.
I'd love TK (and as many of the current squad as possible) to stay but unless the full facts are made clear, which they never are, I think that despite the club's best efforts, we have to resign ourselves to losing two or three of the current set-up.
Good to hear from you Rich <ok>

It's a fair point, Cromer, but I think there are some big differences. Klose had 23 starts before his injury and made 8 sub appearances after that. Pinto had 3 starts at the beginning of the season and then was hardly seen again, even on the bench, as the phenomenon that is Aarons arrived on the scene. Godfrey made his breakthrough much later and then hung on to his place as we kept on winning. That isn't going to happen as often in the PL, so players will be competing for a start every week. Klose's PL experience would be very
important in a young team which is going to take some very hard knocks next season. There's a reason he was offered a new contract and Pinto wasn't. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him starting the first game.

Any signing on the clubs terms must be positive, it's not like Timm is an unknown either. A very solid option who we already know fits well in the team/squad.

    Bah!

If he stays (which I hope he does) I see Timm starting more games, especially at the more "difficult" away games where I think we will sacrifice some creativity in the middle of the park for a more solid defence with three CB's (Zimbo, Timm and Godfrey). This option would allow Godfrey in particular to push up when we are on the counter into a more central role to support the attack.

Agree, and Godfrey pushing into midfield could also allow a creative midfielder to push forward in attack, both falling back into position when the ball is lost. The balance between attack and defence will be different in the PL.

Klose's contract will be like a first signing and as GM says, a known good fit as well.

He was too good and too important to let go on a free. If we hadn't gained promotion I was 100% sure he'd leave. We couldn't offer him the money, and he's be looking for a challenge at a higher level. As soon as we were Promoted. This needed to happen.

That's basically what I was thinking but you put it better than me. I think Klose is a somewhat different case to Ivo. I'd still like to keep as many Prem exp players as possible & not gut the squad this time round.

    Thanks Duncan & Cromer
