OK the BBC thing was different but they tried to claim the precedent for what rangers did was marseille being stripped of their title for bribing other teams to lose so that they could win the league to get into the CL and then bribing champions league teams to get to the CL final.
Marseille had their league title (rightly) stripped but the UEFA site still shows them as CL winners that year.
How can anybody see bribing other teams to let you win being the same as paying some of your players a bit extra.
