I'm looking for 2 tickets for the game vs Bournemouth for my brother in law and my niece. I mistakenly thought that, as a season ticket holder, I would get priority, but have been put in my place by the St Mary's ticket office and told that this doesn't give me any priority over the general public. Though, if I'd been a member (not a season ticket holder) I could buy one ticket before they go on general sale. If anyone knows anyone who may be able to help, I'd be grateful - otherwise I'll await general sale and hope there are some left. Thinking that next year, as I'll probably be missing a fair few games, I won't bother with a season ticket and just pick and choose the games I would like to go and see. Is that how you want to play it Southampton FC?
I imagine there will be tickets available as its a Sunday televised game, but I agree its a strange system. I didn't become a member either, didn't want to pay more money and not even get a match ticket.
Season ticket holders shouldn't get priority to buy extra tickets - why should they? They've got their seat, members should certainly get priority over a ST holders friends/family.
I may be the only one, but surely it is fair enough that a member without a ticket can buy their first ticket before a season ticket holder can buy a second ticket for a friend or relative?
Exactly, that's how it works...always has done, it's just that for a few seasons the membership was abandoned as unnecessary.
season tickets should not be allowed and members should not be permitted access to the stadium period
I'm not disputing that - I'm just saying that, as I've paid out a large sum of money to get a season ticket, surely I should get some priority over the general public. I have no issue with members having first pick of the tickets which aren't taken by the season ticket holders, but to not let season ticket holders have any priority so their friends/family can sit close is a bit off, in my opinion. Maybe I'm strange like that - but, for me, if I'm going to miss a number of games next year, then there's no reason to have a season ticket - I'll pay out my £30 or whatever to become a member and get priority for the "big" games ..............
I agree with this and I'm a ST holder. We rightly get our benefit by having priority in other things such as away games.
I agree as well - but I think ST should then get next priority for tickets ........... Guess I'm in a minority of 1 Wait a minute - you just agreed with Tom!
Well, my parents had a boat on the Hamble at Bursledon and I used to row up and down the river a lot. I seem to remember the old man cursing the water skiers a number of times ................
There are fans with money and fans without. There are also fans who work at weekends. There are no plastic fans.
Fully agree. I would be classified as a plastic fan by a few - despite bringing up six boys to support the mighty saints and follow them whenever and wherever we can. Due to finances, I was able to go to far more games, home and away in league 1 days than now. But did manage to get us all to the Man City away game for our return to the premier league (£50 per ticket plus travel aagggghhhh) at the expense of several home games that followed it. Choices have to be made and unfortunately there are more important things which take precedence. Having said that, I would always prefer the lower priced games because I want to watch Saints whoever the opposition - cheaper = more games!
