I'm astounded that I come onto the Arsenal board, and find not one thread about ticket prices, considering every single year Arsenal fans have the biggest potential gripe of anybody. £1000... A CHEAP SEASON TICKET?!

So, what's the craic? Do you lot just accept that it's the way it is and get on with it? Are most of you so rich you're glad the riff-raff are prevented from entering unless they win the lottery? Or do most of you just watch your team from home?

I like that Wenger plays a certain way, and sticks by his principles, so I don't want to have a go at what you get for the price. Trophies or not, Arsenal traditionally provide good quality entertainment. It just seems outrageously expensive compared with the rest of the league.

Do you chaps just not have any thoughts on the topic whatsoever? Your financial model has an impact on the whole league. If they started charging the prices you did for Newcastle games, a working class man would never be able to take his son to the game ever again... Obviously Arsenal has a catchment of higher salaries, and people who can spend surplus cash on a match ticket... But surely there must be some among you who haven't seen your team play in ages? Just thought I'd ask chaps.

Not according to the report though, so I presume that's Carling Cup ties that everyone else charges those prices for as well?

I believe the Arsenal season ticket has more games included than those at most others. If there was a ST for just all 19 home league games, it would surely be cheaper.

Having said that, I myself would never buy a season ticket at the Emirates, even if I did live in London. Not unless I suddenly got a lot richer. The same is true of most (not all), yet there are enough fans who are rich enough to buy the season ticket each year.

In all businesses, demand drives supply, and for a team like Arsenal, there will always be a much greater demand, leading to prices being pushed up and up with no effect.

Yes it includes the Champions league group stages and four other cup games.

I wouldn't say no effect. People are starting to realise that things EVERYBODY should be entitled to see and do, are becoming trappings of status rather than methods of entertainment. I mean, it's just a game. I think it's always been the case that the rich and powerful have bought whatever the poor make successful, so perhaps the poor invent a new, cheap hobby, that becomes popular... and the cycle begins again as football dies a slow cold death.

I realise people will question me on the entitlement aspect, but I stand by it. Football is a community tradition, and it's being taken away from the masses who enjoy the sport, and given to corporate arses that do business there instead.

I don't tend to try and imply logic, because let's face it, with the title of "fans" (fanatics), we're by definition not designed to be logical. Yet, at some point, this has to snap, and probably having snapped a good few people along with it.

It's not "supply and demand", so much as holding traditions, values, loyalties ransom to the local populace to benefit the greedy, and the greedy alone. No wonder there's no uproar on the board if there's such an emotional disconnect there. Passion is being kidnapped and exploited. People wonder why you go to a ground and there's no atmosphere these days, it's because there's only apathy among supporters and the "brand" their club used to be. It's obvious if you wield the "supply and demand" statement, you are apathetic to the situation, it doesn't effect you. Personally, that sort of selfishness would be spat upon by supporters of old. That's the antitheses of football for me... There's your Anti-football. Maybe in a few years it'll rocket up further and hit you as well!

If that's how generally ambivalent people are about it, then it's no surprise that Arsenal charge that much! Clearly they aren't pushing hard enough!

Simple, stop being poor, work harder at your job and you can afford a ticket. If high prices keep the lower classes away, then i'm ecstatic.

I support Newcastle... Cheapest match tickets in the league. The one thing Ashley deserves credit for, as all our games are accessible and priced reasonably. He dumps all over that with 3rd and 4th kits every year (FFS), but they are optionals for fans. Seeing the team is the point.

For "Disgruntled Gunner", you seem to be aggressively defending the pricing structure?!

Oh and your club make massive profits year on year, usually spend very little of that in transfer windows, and paid off a stadium in very little time at all. Your club does not need big prices to keep working.

You need a reality check about taxation, especially corporation tax, wages to cost of living ratio and the proportion of wealth to tax. Do your research and you'll find that the biggest hole in the economy when it comes to tax is the £100bn avoided by corporations. This far outstrips the the amount paid in benefits to people out of work. Even then you have to question why so many people who actually work need to claim benefits ? Low wages, zero hour contracts etc. Don't forget the £85bn hole in the economy that the bankers created with their illegal trading for which nobody was prosecuted, they were bailed out by us the taxpayer and they still award themselves huge bonuses. And the result for us, austerity measures, huge slashes to public services and a crippled economy.

You have this equation arse about face mate. The poor are not to blame for the economy, they are the victims of it. It's the rich banks and corporations that are the drain on resources, so that everybody else is fighting over the scraps. Classic right wing divide and rule tactics to get the middle income people blaming the low paid, who then blame the unemployed, who then blame the immigrants for no jobs, low wages, etc and in the process rich get richer and richer, whilst our NHS, Councils, Schools etc struggle to survive.

Wake up and see who controls the finances and the economy. You might see yourself as middle class, but you are much closer to those unemployed people you like to blame than you think.
