Nothing to suggest he won't be able to repeat this form in March saying as he's proven to be a class apart in terms of his ability at peaking them for Cheltenham like no other. Could be carnage!

Sarah Bradstock not impressed with Thistlecrack and hints that the masses are getting very much carried away "Thistlecrack did what he did beautifully, but what did he do?

"Cue Card is a wonderful horse but he has a few miles on the clock and I think he showed when he ran in the Charlie Hall chase he's not as effective on good ground as he is soft.

"He just beat Silviniaco Conti and he was miles behind him at Haydock.

"We wouldn't be afraid to take Thistlecrack on, anyway.

"If we can get Coneygree to the top of his game we'll show him who's boss!"

Fighting words when she knows her horse is almost guaranteed to never meet Thistlecrack <laugh>

She makes valid points though.

Opened 5/4 with Paddys too which I didn't bother with. Logged back in later saw him into Evens so left him. Think Penhill might just like the step up in trip too so the Rebels plenty skinny enough now.

^^^ He KNEW but did he back it, did he feck <laugh>

Imagine what THISTLECRACK would a done on Boxing Day if he was trained by Willie <confused>:emoticon-0105-wink:

Spot on <ok> don't mess with the GOAT as they say! The gamble went awry for them but Penhill was different class today. The Rebel faded badly, another burst vessel!

He stayed on dourly didn't he. Made plenty enough mistakes around the back straight and on the run in too so the win could be slightly upgraded imo.

I remember you mentioning him in his bumper days alright. He's always been good but he always looked a chaser out and out and now we can see why.

Just glossed his bumper form again...beat De Plotting Shed 21l and then was just 0.5l behind Death Duty!

Put him up as a confident shout one time, but the horse who just beat him was none other a certain DEATH DUTY, safe to say he bumped into one that day :(

Great ride by Cooper there too in fairness, give him his dues in that. Didn't let Ruby dictate and took Nichols Canyon out of his comfort zone.

Petit Mouchoir did it well. I was thinking the mistake NC made rounding the turn cost him but on reflection he lost about half of what he was beaten by so I think PM was good for the win regardless.

Did Petit Mouchoir improve to run a PB the best part of a stone +...doubtful.
