Put forward for a nominee to be one of the modern 7 wonders of the world Edward. A beautiful spot, what more do ya want ??? Say it in an Irish accent 100 times and you will come around <ok>
Haven't been ther in twenty years. Went on a school holiday there along with Bunratty Castle and the stone thingy in the burren. It couldn't trump fungi though as far as school holidays are concerned.

Where abouts are you in the country Doalittle? Did I pick up Kerry from a post someday or am I making that up!

Look at the results last few days, been saying it for ages, York is a lottery track, used to be the best track in Europe and a guaranteed cert meeting, now its a mug benefit.

Add in soft ground and you might aswell set fire to your hard earned.

Since they had the drainage work done, York has become very hard to find a winner because they used to stay on the far side on the round course and come down the middle on the straight course; only crossing to the stands side when the going was soft.

The reason for all the duff results from a betting point of view is much simpler: all the form that the punters have been using has been on quick ground. A couple of days of rain on the Knavesmire and it is all worthless. That is why, unless the ground comes up soft at Epsom, nobody will be interested in the Musidora/Dante form when it comes to the Classics.

I hardly bet on York races these days and rarely visit anymore whereas it used to be my most visited track.

Sad to hear that Oddy.Chris Cornell also passed away- Big fan of Soundgarden back in the day, man had a cracking voice.
Noel Meade should be wining the bumper at Clonmel but 6/4 is to skinny for me so will look to double it up with something else.

Good shout Ste, hope you found a double - chucked it with a winner at HQ so happy days :)

At 20s . Although at least it reinforced the soft conditions on the day.

A very uninspiring field for the Dante. No-one stood out and I'd say they were a poor lot.

2yo field was interesting with Johnston's colt looking the pick until he suddenly grew a fifth leg. A big handsome colt by Mayson, was discounted by me as he was acting like a baby whinnying nearly the whole time he was in the parade ring. He then proceeded to act like a bull before going down and gave trouble at the stalls. In the race the colt, Zap, travelled sweetly and won nicely. However I'd also look out for the 2nd, Red Force One, who wasn't given a particularly hard race but who came alive in the last furlong.

Difficult card and had only one winner. Blond Me stood out in the Fillies/Mare race on looks. But when you back the outsider in a field of 4 you tend to be conservative.
