I don't see why someone would choose to post on that type of forum. The whole setup of the place is terrible...

You could end up saying the same thing regarding this current board, if/after it changed a bit and went up another level in terms of debate-conduciveness and organisation.

Don't like the fact there are more OT threads than footy ones, then use your brain and create something worth discussing.

If there were a significant number of people who didn't like the OT threads- I would suggest a separate Liverpool "OT" subforum. A place for Liverpool fans to discuss non-Liverpool things with each other... I think most of us would still go there it wouldn't lose traffic*- and it would satisfy the fuddy duddies.

Although- is there really that much opposition to the OT topics? Almost all the regular posters do get involved with at least some of the OT discussion.

* Especially if the link to the Liverpool OT subforum was at the top of the Liverpool page- so it would be "in the open"... just like the Premier League forum has links to all the team boards.

A lot of crickety moaning and schmoaning - no action. Demand a vote! Demand democracy! Demand action! It should be up to the 40 odd posters of this board to organise their forum as they see fit - the mods are there to moderate, not dictate.

Don't think they're dictating mate.

How do you think the board should be organised?

{btw I don't think where you come from should be used to have sly digs at you, if people think you're an idiot that's fair enough but putting Canadian in there is as out of order as putting someone's faith [oh I see that's been done as well] or colour in there and it's totally unnecessary as you can no more help where you were born that what colour you were born} <ok>

You're being soft, JB. Plato would be disappointed in you.

True democracy is an open vote, and I am unfortunately convinced that if a vote was cast regarding what in broad terms should constitute "sticky" "OT" "merged" closed" threads - some of the mods on here would NOT be open to adopt your democratic verdict. Are you, Dave and Frank OK with that?

Personally... I don't like stickies.

I think they serve a purpose. For posting things like "rules of the board" or "announcements" that don't want to be lost at the top of a forum page- but otherwise a post should survive on it's own merits.

Disclaimer: There are several stickied posts that I use on a regular basis... I don't think they should be stickied though. It's not a huge beef with me... I don't care that much- but I think it makes it minimally harder to find new content with a dozen stickies at the top of the page... especially if using my phone. From a PC not so much.

True democracy does not require what you appear to call an open vote. In a truly democratic vote all those who have been mandated must have the opportunity to cast their vote.

As for my own opinion, I am quite happy to continue with the existing moderation system. Is that 'open' enough for you?

I remember Knotty from old 606. Yeah, he'd be good. TR sounds familiar from old 606 although I don't remember him as much. Unless RAP is an abbreviation of Red A-something Privateer- don't recognise that name.

TR - Talks Rubbish - you must remember him and mito and the 'challenges' .... Anfield RAP ..... and Red Privateer was wishi's mate I think.

Well, maybe JB, Dave and Frank are too old to care to bother. Which leads us to another irony: that a couple of our new mods were recently elected under the banner of "Young Power", however they haven't had the ***s to even pop up on here to acknowledge any part of the discussion.

Biscan passed his opinion early on. As did MITO. The only one I've not seen (and I've not read all this thread) is Enricky.

I'm on holiday so you lot aren't really in my thoughts at the moment to be honest. But I have posted on here so maybe get the facts right before posting <ok>

Your attempt to organise some form of mutiny, driven by your agenda against Gerrez has died on its arse, so why don't you just move on you melt.

Ah yes, Talks Rubbish I remember. Did recognise "TR" but Talks Rubbish I recognise more without the abbreviation. Anfield RAP I do remember too now I know it's not an abbreviation! <laugh>

Yes, remember them all... all good posters!

That's exactly why you won't get what you want Liv .

You call for democracy and open air of views but then immediately declare that to suggest no change is indicative of "not caring" or age related apathy rather than an informed and valid choice. You attempt immediately to undermine "the vote" of those in opposition to your position...That's a dictatorship mate and a cowardly one at that., not in fact despite your claims, what the current mods are doing.....think you may go get a politics 101 book and read up on your definitions in their most basic forms.

There's a difference between wrong and disagreeing with you. They are not mutually inclusive.

I'll refer you back to my comment about how if your the only one holding that vaulted opinion it may well be that the rest of us aren't in fact morons you're just simply not as clever or as interesting as you believe......

And a vote on what, there has not been remotely any agreement on the options to vote for never mind who can vote? The very reason I think the status quo works so well, everyone gets what they want because they have ability to create the type of threads they want to exist.

If it's not there, it's your own fault.....good luck on your superior threads Liv.....I'll even contribute.....if they're interesting......

As i've said before i don't really think the board needs to change. The Mods are doing a fine job, a feel a good sign of this is the fact that i don't know who the mods actually are.

I can see why the gaza thread was moved, anybody can self sustain a thread. i could post a thread on what i'm having for lunch with thoughts of quality and satisfaction afterwards. It would last forever on the front page but nobody would read it but me and the odd unexpecting newbie.

As toward attracting newer posters, it can be very difficult. The board does have the feeling of the old boys club as there is a core of regular posters who obviously know each other well. However this is true in every endeavor, you need to make the effort to get involved and join in. On the other hand i have seen newbies post and rather than discussion have been ridiculed.

I feel going a bit easier on the newer posters would be a great help.

I don't know how old people think I am <laugh> certainly not too old to care to bother, as you say.

With regard to true democracy and voting - what are we voting for exactly?
