Don't make yourself more of an idiot than you already have done! What was the point in challenging the veracity of the monologue that Sisu was engaged in? Sisu had ditched veracity many many pages before. You had take a totally myopic standpoint.

It matters not that people disagree but when threads are used purely for propaganda purposes without any pretence of presenting unbiased evodence then such a thread merely reduces the whole value of the Liverpool Board as a home for proper debate.

If we were going to employ the stricter rules of some other forums, then we would have to ensure that all threads stayed on topic, and all mindless wumming was summarily dealt with.
Although the latter isn't such a bad idea imo, we have to decide if we want a board that is that narrow in scope. It would also greatly increase the workload on the mods, which might discourage people from taking up the role. They would have to diligently go through everything, and with the best will in the world, their interpretation of the "rules" is subjective and we would just end up with more instances like the one that has prompted this thread, not fewer.

A forum, like all societal groups, is a rough average of its members and, like the 2.4 children scenario, will never be fully representative of any individual entity.

The bottom line is, we get the forum we deserve, because we all contribute to it, and we can all take it or leave it as we choose.

The point was that debate on that thread had stopped many many pages before it was moved. It had become a pointless biased rant by one person!

I haven't looked at that thread for a long time, dave, and the principle still holds- nobody is forced to read it.
If it is the forum equivalent of a padded cell then is it really doing any harm?
If there were some serious issues with it, then perhaps we should be told what they were, if possible- after all, the board "belongs" to all of us.
If people were just complaining that it was tedious, then I think that criticism could be levelled at a fair proportion of the stuff we come out with.

You truly are pathetic. Despite assertions by myself, Frank and UIR that our arguments had nothing to do with our personal opinions you can still make comments like the one above. All you do is prove that it is you who cannot discern truth and have to resort to insult.
