Thought this was going to be about the different wardrobes of different generations on the forum. Oh what a disappointment. Hash has a point. There seems to be a 'one rule for us and another rule for them' attitude in certain sections of the forum and in its moderation sometimes.

Looking at the front page right now you can make a case for most of the threads being there as they are either LFC specific or general enough/about sports (F1 / cricket) to be relevant to the forum. What pisses me off is - not to single the old ****er out, sorry chap - how is a thread like the 'Cheese update' thread aloud to stay but Sisu's goes. Both are self-indulgences by one poster. It just seems one is tolerated whilst the other is bullied off as a madman. I enjoy, or enjoyed in the case of the latter, both threads but it's hypocritical to ditch one and not the other. Hell I started one about mushrooms the other day, it's gone down a page or two, that's fine but using current logic it shouldn't be here now.

Thinking about it, what were the actual reasons behind removing this thread. Can one of the mods at least be clear on that instead of hiding behind bravado and the power of their position. In fact clearer rules on what is appropriate subject matter for the forum and what is not would be appropriate if we're going down this censorship route.

In fairness mate, the difference is not the mods subjective view on the 2 threads you mention, it's the fact that one was the subject of multiple complaints from forum members, and the other isn't.

So your question should really be to the posters who snipe behind the scenes and don't have the ability to ignore something they don't want to read or challenge the content if they feel it's wrong - and choose instead to whine for its removal. It's ****house behaviour imo.

I must say im disappointed with the mods on here and the lack of thread movement.

On a happier note I met a lovely black chap from liverpool in the gym tonight, michael something or other tbh not even sure if its michael. He told me I could call him aki and I could touch his biceps if he could touch mine. Charming fella :bandit:

Ask him if he likes the colour purple.

So that was why it went?

I'm interested in what the complaints were about tbh since that's the case.

If people are saying it's got questionable content then I'd refer them to about 90% of the threads on here. If we're going to get into what's 'suitable content' for the forum territory then most of the banter that goes on in threads here has to be called into question.

There is definitely more non football stuff going on here than football stuff. Honestly though... this forum would be very slow moving without it.

Liverpool football discussion is the bones and structure for the forum but not the meat.

No one wants just the bones. People don't want to finger a skeleton every day.

Its the fluff that keeps the forum going in between Suarez biting people.

Very true Livtor, and if you bothered to look you'd see the difference we've made to our board since the wumfest of the modless days of 2011.

You should be grateful you and your Canadian wit are free to post on here, these are the easy days of not606, while you were roller skating in the street with your hockeystick and eating mooseburgers we were helping make this site is a happier place all, including you.:emoticon-0109-kiss:

I'm sure some oldies on here love to sway and fart in their little happy playground swings - I'm not one of them. What makes you think I like a dumbified "happy" place for a forum?

personal insults that are thrown gratuitously with no point or humour shouldn't be welcome, but other than that I say - Battle f*cking away - so long as nobody hits below the belt or brings a knife to the ring. Healthy rules is all what some of us are asking for. and a few helpful questions like this:

What makes a thread outstay their welcome? What makes a thread sticky? What makes a thread closed? What makes a thread merged? Why so few original OPs? Why does the 2011 class represent 95% of the posts? Why so much tripe? Why does tobes exist?

I can't take what you've posted seriously mate due to you starting your not606 membership with a tirade of anger and aiming "personal insults" in every direction.

I agree, no probs with OT stuff, it keeps the place lively, active and one of the most popular forums on the site, but what I don't like is the hypocrisy and singling out of certain threads for the bin. I actually agree with Livtor as well, there needs to be more clarity on what the rules of engagement are.

Ah, I see... Like gonz/greez, tobes and the like you're also unable to see the difference between healthy debate and pointless personal insults. 'Cause tobes and gonz/greez are one and the same in essence. Whilst tobes subverts healthy debate into personal insults, greez/gonz/pmk see personal insults in a healthy debate.

Sorry for your blindness.

You're so full of **** Liv.<laugh>

I'd say "if you were chocolate you'd eat yourself" but you already know that.<ok>

You're one step away from the light, chocolat, one step away. Take it. Don't let the boring spiderwebs of a moldy allegiance hold your active mind back. You know that I'm right and that this forum can do better. Step into the light.

Well... there are these things call birds, and bees fly around having sex with them when a man and a woman really love each other.

Then one day a stork came by Tobes's parents house and did a c-section on his mother and delivered Tobes.

I don't know but I think a bee had sex with the stork first.

Where do you get this stuff?

On a serious note:

Doesn't a high post to thread ratio mean that the forum is doing something right?

If most posts have a high reply ratio it means that people are getting involved in them.

Or would you rather we be like United and have a Matth who creates 5 threads for every topic?

/ dark chocolate is the best.
// do you like poutine?

For the record,I don't agree with the Gaza thread being moved.Sisu was responsible for about 25% of the posts so there was a lot of other input
and opinion going into an interesting OT thread.Surely individual threads will sink or swim on popularity, and there is plenty of room for debate
outside of football related threads, especially with this two week break between matches.
I also think we should be told the nature of the complaints. Was it about the content,or was it about the poster himself. #conspiracy <whistle>

You don't want to have either extreme. Too high a post to thread ratio may also mean same old threads getting new tired posts, threat of thread merging and closure being too present, reluctance or apprehension of posters posting original OPs being too high.

Just read through this thread and had to keep checking the posters names to make sure i wasn`t on the Arsenal board
My take on this is, if a thread is getting plenty of current posts then people are obviously interested in it and so it should be left to run, exception being if it becomes personal and/or abusive. If, on the other hand, mods get lots of complaints about it then maybe something has to be done. In my opinion Gerez made a fair decision here, he didn`t close the thread, he just moved it so the interested posters could continue to use it.
