I am not normally a moaner and I do back the team 100%. Of course I think its a fantastic achievement to get to the cup final but my point is I want to start the game thinking we have a chance of winning it. If we lose I don't want it to be 6 0, but even then when the dust settles I know it is a big thing to have actually made the final. I am realistic and know that Arsenal are, on paper anyway, the team who are going to win but I want our team to go out all guns blazing and not give away silly goals. I am really really hoping that Bruce is right and the players have been holding themselves back these past few weeks just ready for this one game. Its a one off and anything can happen. On a previous thread I actually said that I thought we would win cos it was just meant to be this year. Yes I am suffering a lack of confidence at the moment but come on how can anyone blame me after the last few games. Fingers crossed all will be well on the day.

I don't understand how any City fans can be anxious about next week. Basically we have got a reasonable chance of winning the FA Cup and every time I think about it I can't help but smile. No point in considering anything else!

I think that recently, and yesterday in particular, the players have been saving themselves. They did not go into tackles and loose balls 100% in my opinion and why would they? I wouldn't risk injury and missing out on plating in the greatest game in our history? Hopefully Arsenal will think that they just have to turn up to win, i think City will be a different team come Saturday (I flippin well hope so!!)

Juleskaren, you've posted on here as long as I have and your posts have always been positive and constructive; nothings changed as your honesty shines through.

Arsenal will not be taking anything for granted and they will be turning up for a battle, a battle that has to be won in the midfield. They will not underestimate us and we should not give them anything other than the respect they have earnt and deserve.

We have failed to turn up for the last few games and, once safe, that has been understandable. The big occasion should change that, but it doesn't always and I think there will be many out there who, like you (and me), dread a drubbing. But, equally, many Arsenal supporters will have a quiet and subdued dread of being beaten by Hull City AFC. All we can ask is that the lads play to their best ability, don't stop running and impose themselves early to set the tone for 90 minutes of football history.

Talk about negative, a one off cup final is not about current form. No one expects us to win, we have nothing to loose. In my book we have a huge psychological advantage a major factor for us. Did anyone expect Wimbledon to beat Liverpool? Our first major trophy, you bet. <bubbly>

Well said, I've waited 47 years for this, we don't need negative or pessimistic crap from anyone. Get behind them, if we do loose we should still be proud or our achievements this season.

Yesterday was rotten and recent form hasn't been great but the cup final is a complete one-off. The players went into the Everton with two main aims, not to get injured and not to get sent off. With that accomplished they can give everything next week.
Unlike the semi-final all the pressure is on Arsenal, our season has already been a massive success, theirs depends entirely on winning the cup. Nothing to lose, we'll give it a real go.

Most of the players yesterday seemed afraid to break into a sweat never mind make a tackle (Quinny excepted). Perfectly understandable. Wembley will be very different.

Unfortunately not having a big squad like some of the richer teams some players know they can play below par and still keep their place in the team.

It's all very well saying players are just looking after themselves, but should the supporters turn up and pay to watch such games? Maybe they could have forfeited the game to save people the trouble?

As for the cup final in a one-off game anything can happen. But it wouldn't be honest not to raise concerns and I certainly hope the team are made aware of the focus needed. It's not good enough like some people here to say we're in Europe and it doesn't matter or to imply we've got to the final and so have won already. Winning teams don't think like that, they want to win.

So a winning team who wants to win the FA cup would focus their attention and efforts on winning that FA cup? So they might (for example) ease off in games that are meaningless in order to give themselves the best chance of winning that trophy. Nicely circular argument, answering your own grumble with another grumble really takes some doing mate.

    I'm very excited for Saturday.

I fully expect to get thrashed, so anything else will be a pleasant surprise. Will put a bet on 5-0 to Arsenal I think.

Going to be an excellent day out, whatever the scoreline - and you just never know.

Whatever happens I will enjoy the day, I have waited since 1958 for this day, and nothing will spoil it, win or lose. I am sure we have a good chance of lifting the trophy, but as long as the team perform well and make a good game of it, then I will be happy.

Yeh, it's been a long enough wait to get there so why be satisfied with just being there? The fewer chances you get the more you have to take advantage of them.

The big thing this year was staying in the premier league as SB said a disappointing end but we have kept up now Saturday is a massive bonus, most of us deep down know we are coming up against an inform top four premier league team so of course we are the under dogs and it will be very hard but just go there and enjoy it all not just the game, its getting the City gear out the night before, its waking up during the night picking the team, its the drive down with the flags on the car, its wearing black and amber and been part of a 25000 army, its going to the pub , its walking down Wembley way and singing your head off in the stadium. ENJOY

    Very true Johnbo.

The thousands of supporters that came before us, fathers , uncles grandads etc who NEVER got to see HULL CITY in the FA CUP Final.

    We are the fortunate ones.

We ALL want our team to win

But if we don't.....so be it.

I'm going to have a great day whatever the score and I hope we all do.

Also if we do happen to lose....We will just have to get to a final again and win the next time.

    City to win on penaltys

    :)

    One off game.

    Anything could happen.

Too many players have taken their eye off the ball since safety was attained and the final was reached.

If they wake up in the right frame of mind on Saturday morning and do themselves justice, we'll all be happy on Saturday night.

    One off game.
