We did deserve a draw, and with decent officials would have one. Poor old Stan is all over the floor like a spilled tin of paint, he shows more and more of his delusional world with every post. Now Hazard, Morata, Rudy and Drinkwater have been added to the list , only 5 to go !!
I think tiredness was a small factor, linesman a bigger one but the same old problems keep flashing red.
Total lack of a decent powerful midfield controlling and attacking player, no striker, and to a lesser extent, back 3 defence not playing fluently.
Bakayoko ,Barkley and Drinkwater are all well below what is required and Kante will be wrecked without help.
I think Christensens' lack of experience is holding back Daves game and Rudiger is still not quite up to speed.
Morata is not the answer to Contes' preferred "1 up front" and is showing too often why he was never 1st choice at Real.
Despite this, it was a spirited game by us and top marks for attitude and effort. We are back to getting performances from the team at the top level of their capability, even with the obvious flaws. We can't expect more than that and we might still sneak into top 4 if we keep it up.

Hazard, Morata, Rudy & Drinky will never be as bad as Alonso or Cescy. My list comprises of only Alonso & Cescy.
That too never start them more than once in a week. Both are useless athletes.

Alonso is directly responsible for 90% of our goals conceded. He was the culprit for both goals today.
Cescy is his invisible best for most days.

Absolute rubbish. The first goal was mostly down to Christensens' bad luck. He was whacked on the head and got up out of position. Not his fault getting whacked, but being down allowed Utd to put Lukaku clear. Alonso tried to fill the hole and despite his efforts Lukaku scores. Nothing to do with Alonso, everything to do with Christensen leaving a big hole.
The second was all Christensens fault. He simply got mugged by a player in great form, like the inexperienced kid he is, and Lingard was on the spot. Again absolutely nothing to do with Alonso.
Christensen is showing some signs of needing time to breath, he is being asked too much of to play every game, and in the 2 big games of the past week , has been shown to be prone to mistakes no doubt due to pressure. Give the kid a break and get Luiz back in the centre of the action somehow.

In what way? by saying that we hit a bar and had a perfectly good goal disallowed? By saying we didnt have the luck we deserved? No one but No one has a right for a top four finish and he was correct in saying it could be difficult but they will fight until the end.

Ps. As a supposed Chelsea fan youre a ****ing disgrace. <ok>

    Couldn't agree more.
Deluded, stubborn, illogical, **** talking, disgrace.

We should have been 2 or 3 up in the first half.
United much better in the second half.
Lukaku had a point to prove.
    Willian looked great too.

    Stan's a ****ing twat <ok>

Good post. Top 4 gonna be tough but not impossible.

Think Morata has tools to be lone striker, but not the balls or fitness atm

Need a good run of wins after City

Thought we deserved a point for the first half showing, but our luck was out.Top four well and truly possible.
United are nothing special on that showing and Spurs and Liverpool will drop points.

Let’s hope Spurs and Liverpool drop points against us. We’re well capable of winning all our remaining home games and Spurs and Liverpool are two of them.

Definately. If our improvement in form and attitude can be maintained, as it was last season, then even underpowered in a couple of spots, we can get top 4. Man U are definately no better than us at our best, but those 6 points are hard to pull back, Liverpool look to have improved and Spurs and us look most likely to fight it out, wouldn't you know !!!.

i was really hopeful for us but i cannot see us getting 4th. Pool look strong and Spurs typically have a strong finish to the season.

We've had a horrendous winter so far and our form is tragic partly imo to contes tactics and partly to our tiring fixture list.

The fact we're still in the CL and FA cup means that the fixtures will keep piling on.

What i don't understand is why we have persisted with Morata in a 1 when we know he's not suited it in a while and whilst i have been jesting with my mates about king giroud, i actually think he's presents us with the most balanced team, whether in a 2 with morata or as the lone striker.

I think we'll etch past barca but i'm very doubtful of top 4 for us

I agree vis a vis Morata, we cannot keep using him as a lone striker, he really is not lone striker material.
I would start with Giroud or put two up top,

I think we’ll ‘etch past’ Barcelona as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if we went through on the most away goals with a 2-2 draw at their Gaff.

We have like 1% chance to get past Barca.
But winning CL is more likely than getting 4th.

You remember I suggested Morata and Michy be given a run as a front 2 ? I have no idea if it will work but thought it worth a try as nothing else was working.

I'd go with the same system as at home as with a bit more luck and error free we would have won comfortably 3-0.
