You foresaw it exactly as it was. Our midfield trio were just incredible. Wolves could not live with City.

Joe "Rawls Royce" was indeed a different class.

    Damour is such a find.

What can you say about NML & Hoilett. Amazing.

Zahore was immense holding it up and creating goal #2.

How did Bamba hit the bar from 3 feet out<doh>

Feet on the ground; potential banana skin v Ollies Rangers coming up<yikes>

Not sure I was watching the same game as Santo. The first half we pretty much attacked them from start to finish. They had a 10-15 minute spell where they threatened. All the pulling and pushing came from them. Some of ours may well have had the odd dig, but that's the game they wanted to play. Hats off to our lads, they kept their composure and stuck to the job at hand.
The second half saw Wolves press us more and tried more steam roller tactics. I'm not sure if Ralls shot was a miss-hit, but it still counts. Their goal was more a lapse of concentration on our part than good build up play. Mendez's goal was a quality strike. All in all a thoroughly deserved win and Santo should reflect on his own side and tactics before bad mouthing our set up.

Watched highlights a couple times now, and thinking back to previous games, the big difference from the previous couple seasons is the number of bodies in the box, and arriving in waves.

I think with the front 3, if the ball comes down the left, Zahore and the NML arrive centre goal and far corner of the 6 yard box and vice versa. Add to that one of the midfield arriving at the edge of the box and there are plenty of opportunities for the delivery. In years gone buy the cross / ball in would come and there would be nothing but defenders.

There also seems a shoot on sight policy with everyone encouraged to have a dig. Jazz has had a pop from the edge of the box a few times as has Damour and Gunner. The attempt and shots on target has been high in every game.

Still early days, but a VERY encouraging start. Hopefully get to see Bogle on Tuesday and give Ken a breather. I'd be inclined to give NML 60 minutes and have Hoilett on at some point to keep their momentum going. Connolley and Bruno at the back maybe? Would be good to win it to keep the momentum and winning mentality.

You're dead right about support going forward remote. As poor as he was on times, Lambert was hung out to dry on his own with no one around him when the ball went upfield.

The difference now is obvious. When we go forward off a higher line at the back we do so in numbers. The pace of Mendez, Hoilett and Zohore running at the teams we've played so far has left them floundering. Villa was the best example so far - Terry and Chester were made to look pedesetrian.

It seems the side is playing more "integrated" football (whatever that means <laugh>) with always a player on hand to support each other.

Gunnar and Ralls in midfield have been a revelation since Warnock arrived, and with the addition of Damour now I doubt there is a more dynamic and determined middle 3 in the division. "Box to box" is often an overworked expression but these three fit the bill.

Damour has been a real bonus.

Just saw him as a gamble. But this shows what having a manager with decent contacts can do.

If and its a big if the players can keep up this high pressing , aggressive football all season we will make top 2.

Lot of work for Ralls and Gunner though.

Wolves manager wide of the mark in his criticism of the ref & city's tactics.

Credit being out fought & out manoeuvred by a better managed and better team rather than moan.

Fecking disgrace tackling and pressing his highly expensive precious little darlings. We should have stood off them and
let them play their pretty football.

Glad we beat them and their deluded fans.

    Welcome to the Championship.

That's the line I picked up from the Santos interview Hilts.

He said that he wants to play 'total football' and that is what fans come to see. He is deluded if he thinks opposition will just sit back and let them do what they want. He also moaned that Cardiff have set the blueprint of how to play against them and others will do the same. Moaning like that is going to highlight the fact they don't like it and others will follow. Could end up a long season for wolves if they're not careful.

I thought the objective was to win games. Sometimes pretty, sometimes not. We didn't go out just to contain them, we went out to stop their game and play ours. From the highlights our attacking play was a match for theirs. The difference being, we dealt better with them attacking than they did with us. NML tore his fullback a new arse hole. Hoilet turned their defender inside out to set up Ralls even though their guy tried to rugby tackle him as he went past (dashed unfair tactics if you ask me old boy - bloody hypocrite). If we'd parked the bus and played for a draw he might have a point, but we didn't, we rattled them then ran at them with purpose.
