If you want a history lesson best I remind you that unless their own nation is threatened they don't give a stuff about anyone else including the UK. If you ask any American WWII was started in 1942 when Pearl harbour was bombed by the Japanese and despite being virtually on their doorstep they didn't lift a bloody finger to liberate the Falkland Islanders in '82. No, instead we had to send a task force thousands of miles to do so.

As a result of the last 2 World wars we formed the United Nations and Nato.
If we wanted to go all guns a blazin' and nuke N Korea we would need to go through Nato or it would be an illegal act of war.
