crikey, just got up and almost choked on my cornflakes reading this thread, my first reaction is why even bother logging on anymore. Chico, i admire your patience and tolerance for still having the energy and desire to mod this rabble. I seldom read let alone contribute to the boards these days as too much infighting and not enough football talk - honestly, do we always have to be at war with someone? it seems if we don;t have a common enemy we soon turn on ourselves, perhaps we've become so used to success on the pitch that we've become blase to it and instead of discussing the team, we pick fights with each other. as for the ones who enjoy squabbling, maybe better to set you up in a private room with JH and you can work off all that excess testosterone and when your done come back on the swans board and discuss footie.
this board needs more posters like Ivor, always talking football and never involved in petty squabbles as well as Mr G for his humour.
as for the mod situation, i like Musty, he's not aligned in any cliques, he's his own man. His vernacular can be sometimes blunt as is the case with many living down under, but i'm sure he'd be a fair mod, besides he apologised for his use of the c-word so i'd like to see Musty reverse his decision to quit as he was the winner of the poll - tho i didn't vote. It's also good to see Scott back and posting. NJ - i agreed with nearly all of your post except the bit on Scott, whilst Scotts match-day threads might not have been as original as those of the erudite Mr G, i liked his threads and enjoyed contributing during the game in the wee hours here in HK, invariably he'd put the match day thread up a couple of days before and that would focus the board on talking about the game. I can't really comment on Scott's performance as a mod, but the board seemed a lot more civil when he and Chico were modding. I would gladly welcome Scott back if Musty doesn't resume.
the way our club is run and the way it's staff and players conduct themselves are the envy of many other clubs and have won us plaudits and friends from around the world, some of whom pop onto this board. and whilst this is just a footie forum, collectively we should strive to at least follow some of ethics of our beloved club. tolerance everyone, tolerance before this board finally implodes
