I don't think we need to do anything tbh.
Abolishing their role wouldn't take away their money, land rental income etc.

Electing a "Presudent" every 4 years along with costs of maintaining the "office" would likely cost just as much and we would have to put up with even more useless political claptrap.

I'm quite happy to bumble along with a smaller Royal family with little more than ceremonial duties.

However, listening to the royal police officer there are 100 to 120 officers protecting each royal on an daily basis and then there are all the palaces and homes they own that need protection when they are not living there. The costs must be phenomenal. I’d rather spend that money on teachers, nurses and doctors.

One of my 'standing jokes' used to be about Prince Charles on the day after the Queen's funeral.

My consideration of the royal family in footballing terms:
The first team are solid and understand that the fans want to see hard work and 100% commitment to the team ethic and that representing the country is their life's work - they are pretty well remunerated for it, but broadly that group are well within the PSR guidelines.
The bench is dire, full of Jack Rodwell soundalikes - forever whining that they don't get a first team slot whilst showing no desire or ability to actually earn one. In short - they're not fit to wear the shirt. Contracts should be terminated or they should be transferred to Saudi or the MLS and they should never represent this team again. An unnecessary drain on PSR which threatens to destroy the whole team.

I’m not normally a conspiracy theorist, in fact I take the piss, but strange how much press he’s got over last ten days, with, let’s be honest nothing startlingly new alleged, but it has served to get Rachel from accounts off the front pages, both her landlord activities and the upcoming budget of doom.
