I had the best campaign to be Prem board mod, perfect slogan, even had Chelsea and Arsenal fans backing me but got cheated out of it, least that’s how I see it anyway. Not sure I can go through that pain again.
Agreed. Live televised debates and everything with regular primaries until two frontrunners emerge from the rest of the pack.
I’ll let you have one ‘free ban’ voucher if you vote for me in such a scenario mate I will be introducing these vouchers to the board, my favourite monthly poster gets one. Produce proof of voucher and I ban a poster of your choice for the day. banned poster has to be Non Spurs many more new ways of bringing the Spurs community together but I’m keeping quiet for now
I was a mod some 20 years ago on a motorbike forum and spent by time editing people’s posts to change what they said (and make them look silly!). I couldn’t be trusted as a mod!
I might have been interested in this fantastic life-changing opportunity, but after having stood 3 times for parliament (about 40 years ago) I vowed not to stand for public office again.
Can I suggest we move on with this. The thread has been viewed 800+ times, so anyone considering putting themselves forward will have by now (possibly give a deadline for any waverers?) and then decide on a voting method. I am ready with my responses to the vote.
Is it just RCL and SD who have nominated themselves, then? I apologise if I've missed anyone. I quickly went through the thread and everyone seems to be ruling themselves out. Is that accurate?
Anyone who wants to be considered for the position should put themselves in by the weekend. A new thread will go up with a vote on Saturday and it'll close on the 31st, if there's no objections. Spurf and I will sit this one out and it'll be purely for the Spurs fans on here. I think it has to be public or any riff-raff could join in. Does that sound fair to everyone?
Well helloooo are we invisible? A few did ask a handful of questions before more candidates potentially put themselves forward…all depends on the answers soooooo?
Not invisible just a little confusing. Never mind let's take it that you wish to stand as a potential mod. Perhaps the best thing I can do is to explain how the board works and what the mods do. Apologies for assuming that people knew this. The forum not606 is privately owned for more information on this speak to @brb or his team. Who is brb? He is the administrator who oversees the whole site with his team of moderators. It is to him and his team that your Spurs mods will go to request bans for example or to clarify any site situations. The forum is divided into boards for example the Spurs board and say the Chelsea board. Each team or sport has it's own board. Each board has it's own moderators who decide how they wish to moderate their board provided that does not clash with the overall forum rules., i.e. no advertising or campaigning for example. The 3 Spurs moderators, when they started some years ago, discussed how we wanted to proceed and we decided that we wanted free speech as far as was possible but not at the expense of allowing personal attacks on posters or rascist comments. That's the basis of our moderation. What do mods have? We have a number of tools that enable us to delete posts or warn posters, we can also move posts to different threads or even move threads or close threads. There is a separate forum for moderators from all the boards to meet and discuss. That's where we might have a discussion with brb about a course of action. I think that covers it, I'm happy to answer any further questions if I can and I am sure if I have missed anything @brb or @PleaseNotPoll will comment.
Just to clarify, when I say the 3 Spurs mods decided on their modus operandi , it was done in discussion with the board at the time and over the years we have requested and gained support for that position from the board.
