The Perseid meteor shower is one of the best meteor showers of the year.

The spectacle is set to peak this weekend, reaching its height on Sunday night into Monday morning.

"The clearest skies will be in eastern Scotland as well as most of England and Wales for the first half of the night.

"It will be clearer in eastern Scotland and southern England for the second half of the night."

BBC weather forecaster Billy Payne said Tuesday night will see "good clear skies" in Scotland and Northern Ireland

I was hoping to see some, but too much cloud cover here in Consett. Might give it half an hour and have another look.

I find the night sky fascinating, especially when you can identity some of the stars and realise how far away they are. The distances involved are mind boggling really.

Wouldn't care had a bloody good day at work as well.
Had an unannounced internal food safety audit and got top marks, really in depth audit so was made up with it.
We've got a bbq on Saturday for the patients and the maintenance lads made this ice cream trolley to wheel round to the patients garden. The freezer plugs in to the garden power supply to keep it frozen as well, it looks mint.
I was going in as a volunteer on Saturday to help out, gutted I won't be able to go in now.

If anyone plays golf and is after some clubs I’m selling mine as I’m not playing anymore. Got some brand new (ish) and some more used. Pop me a message and we can discuss

Luv it. We made a little train for outside reception at our care home. Stuck a few plants in and it looks good. A few more embellishments and it will look the bees knees. I will try n remember to take a photo or two and upload them on here next week.

Walked down Fawcett Street this afternoon, couple of things caught my eye.

Anyone know what's happening with the Lloyds Bank building? That's some pretty elaborate scaffolding they've erected around and above it.

Second thing was a bus passed by with the old yellow Sunderland Busways livery. Arriva or Stagecoach done it as a promo / stunt?

They done a train a couple of years ago and put it in the patients garden at Christmas, looked absolutely brilliant.
Makes a big difference.
