Talking of being run over and wearing clean pants. I came off me road bike last year and was blue lighted in. Thought I'd done some real damage to hip and couldn't move my leg. The paramedic wanted to cut my bib shorts off to have a look but I said erm no. He said why. I said well the no is two fold. One, these bib shorts ain't cheap and I've already ruined my club top which was £50 gone and two, I'm not wearing any knickers as we all go commando to prevent chaffing. Oh we did laugh.
Never heard the going commando expression but I can imagine... Definitely off to watch Wallander...

I don't understand the expression. I would have thought commandos would want extra protection between the legs for when they get into hand to hand combat.

Wednesday fans are discussing their band. Some hate it but most say they get the fans singing.
Personally I hate anything "choreographed" - I don't even like the noisy fans in eastern europe because of that. Spontaneity all the way for me.

To be honest I was more upset at handing over a £20 note for a Budweiser and a Smirnoff ice in The Torch pub before the game and getting a tenner back as change.
Mate always go to the off license andvget the pint cans for £2
Ive been over a dozen times and never use the pubs

Slate magazine's Daniel Engber dates the modern usage to United States college campuses circa 1974, where it was perhaps associated with soldiers in the Vietnam War, who were reputed to go without underwear to "increase ventilation and reduce moisture".[6] However, more recently, Graeme Donald has pointed out that the US Forces refer to "Rangers" rather than "Commandos", and that in any case, the phrase was in use in the UK, referring mainly to women, from the late 1960s.[1] The connection to the UK and women has been suggested to link to a World War II euphemism for prostitutes working in London's West End, who were termed "Piccadilly Commandos"

The area for the East side is ****. However the area for the West is another story: modern shopping centre, better food and drink etc. The so-called Crystal Room (and Ruby Lounge) is like a Sutton Fields industrial unit and overlooks a down at heel coach park . Dint go in Moore Spice.
Wembley way is also getting some major building work done......so in short , it was only our side of the ground that is a dump, everywhere else is 'vibrant'.
Yes i agree the other side is a lot better
I hope we get the west next time

at least I wont have any dirty underpants on

I like the Billy Connolly sketch about his mother insisting on him having clean underpants in case he got run over and had to go to hospital...He says it better than I can write it.

The thing I always remember about going to Wembley is "dirty nets"
Has anyone noticed as your driving through London to Wembley not only do net curtains still seem to be the "in thing" they must have a competition who can go the longest without washing them, some must be into decades!!
This forum has got it all.
From total nonsense and bollox to Comedy gold like this post !#
Excellent

I went in a Wethers in Kilburn. kin great. Sat in the sun for 3 hours, it was touch and go if I left it. Only my mate chuntering away,, so we left to go and have a pint of piss in that Novotel on Wembley Way!!

It was packed with Wednesday fans.
We found out it was the owls southern supporters meeting pount

You calling me a prozzy?

I too was at the Etihad and was very impressed. A friend of mine is a steward and we had a walk around after the game. The rest of the complex is fantastic. The area around the stadium was café culture at its best

That's apart from the pundit guy who said Andrew Robertson had had a good game so much so that he was being talked about as a future England international. The missus soon put him right

Main problem for me is the amount of manufactured ****e blasting out over the PA post-match- it's like they can't trust you to celebrate enthusiastically enough without the aid of some **** music being bombarded at levels loud enough to force dictators out of foreign embassies.

If they'd put a new stadium in the midlands area instead of back in Wembley it would have been easier for people from all over the country to get there and back. And considering they do strange kick off times now (mainly for American viewers I expect) that makes the location even more important.
