I don't understand the expression. I would have thought commandos would want extra protection between the legs for when they get into hand to hand combat.
Wednesday fans are discussing their band. Some hate it but most say they get the fans singing. Personally I hate anything "choreographed" - I don't even like the noisy fans in eastern europe because of that. Spontaneity all the way for me.

Slate magazine's Daniel Engber dates the modern usage to United States college campuses circa 1974, where it was perhaps associated with soldiers in the Vietnam War, who were reputed to go without underwear to "increase ventilation and reduce moisture".[6] However, more recently, Graeme Donald has pointed out that the US Forces refer to "Rangers" rather than "Commandos", and that in any case, the phrase was in use in the UK, referring mainly to women, from the late 1960s.[1] The connection to the UK and women has been suggested to link to a World War II euphemism for prostitutes working in London's West End, who were termed "Piccadilly Commandos"
I like the Billy Connolly sketch about his mother insisting on him having clean underpants in case he got run over and had to go to hospital...He says it better than I can write it.
I went in Mables Tavern Kings Cross. It was packed with Wednesday fans. We found out it was the owls southern supporters meeting pount
That's apart from the pundit guy who said Andrew Robertson had had a good game so much so that he was being talked about as a future England international. The missus soon put him right
Main problem for me is the amount of manufactured ****e blasting out over the PA post-match- it's like they can't trust you to celebrate enthusiastically enough without the aid of some **** music being bombarded at levels loud enough to force dictators out of foreign embassies.
If they'd put a new stadium in the midlands area instead of back in Wembley it would have been easier for people from all over the country to get there and back. And considering they do strange kick off times now (mainly for American viewers I expect) that makes the location even more important.
