i can imagine if the ends are trued up correctly there will be little or no noise. if they are just banged down in any old fashion out of alignement then yes i can imagine noise. but a train wheel with a diameter of what two foot? going over a 3mm gap? wouldnt even know it was there.
stockholm just who's side are you on here?

a 3mm gap over 10 metres would become a 6mm gap at -40? ? thats nowt to a 3 foot diameter wheel. the wheel would drop into the gap about 0.05mm

Chap in front of me purchased an umbrella from the club shop and was then not allowed to take it into the ground.Interesting discussion with the steward.

They've been producing the longest, and best, rail in Europe for years, at one stage rail and tyre cord sales were what was keeping the whole works going.

Two potential solutions spring to mind for this type of common occurence.

    1. Request a refund from the club shop, and then wear a plaggy bag on your head once in the ground.

    2. Distract the steward by shoving the newly acquired Hull City Umbrella up his his rear entrance, swiftly running past him while he is understandably distracted. Then wear a plaggy bag on your head once in the ground.

Which is why I used it. In normal conversation I would probably call it a Carrier Bag

I know “twitter has a chunk of hoofing idiots on it” isn’t exactly a hot take, but honestly - the state of these cretins taking potshots at weather forecasters.
