VAR is to be congratulated on getting me to feel sorry for those B's along the coast.

An old Glaswegian guy was once telling me a story about a local team in a Catholic community that won every game simply because the referee would find reasons to give them penalties. He joked that he'd once seen a penalty given when the ball was in the other penalty area. Well thank heavens that can't happen in real football .........

The other thing that hit me was just how far back should a VAR go? Last season when we conceded a goal to Liverpool after Salah had receieved the ball about 10 yards offside in the build up, the pre-Liverpool pundits argued that this was going back too far in the move as Saints had time to re-group (Offside Law - Liverpool sub-clause). That Burnley decision asks serious questions. Surely the position of the ball at first kick off needs reviewing. If the ball had been misplaced then the result would be void.
