The thing I like the most about it is that Refs being hung out to dry and crucified by TV pundits with the benefit of slow mo and several camera angles will be a thing of the past and important things like cup finals and promotion/relegation have a much better chance of being decided fairly and not by human error by 3 officials in real time.

Not a dig at you but I like how we've gone from 'never will a team get relegated/lose a cup final' to 'better chance' in a year or two

A better chance will become more certain with better technology in years to come IMO, there are bound to be teething problems with any new system like there was in Tennis.

But we have to sacrifice the flow of the game & atmosphere to achieve that. For me, not a price worth paying.

If it got everything right then it might, but still only might mind, be worth it. But it's not going to remove the doubt in a lot of cases or stop teams getting robbed so is it really worth all the negatives that come with it?

People talk about the absolute blatant stone wall decisions but if it was only used for those we wouldn't see it more than ten times a season. I think it was a 7 per game average this weekend and it will only be used more and more.

In what terms will it get better, quicker?

If so that will be counteracted by the fact it will get used for more and more things and go further and further back.

If a team score from a corner do you go back to check if it was a corner? And if it is, what if a foul throw led directly to that corner?

I mean, it's important to get these things right isn't it?

I remember my mate complaining about the old Wembley being torn down and replaced, some people are just naturally conservative about change and that's ok.

I get that but this is a huge change that will fundamentally change the game in terms of a spectacle. It's not a simple rule change or stadium getting torn down.

I'm sure that the authorities will come up with the most sensible and efficient system in the future, the delays don't bug me half as much as it does other people and they can often add to the drama.
But then I'm used to them watching the NHL.

You have more faith than me in the authorities.

For me the fact that all the drama revolves around var now is precisely the problem. Even fans shouting for it every decision makes me wanna go stick my head in an oven.

There was a serious question in there btw, do they check contentious corners if a goal is scored from it does anyone know?

Not yet, that will come in next season blatantly. VAR running the show, no need for a pitch ref. Just a VAR guy over the tannoy

It's not going to do that. There will be a few more stoppages but I haven't see anything more than a minute in the PL so far. Thanks to not using the monitor at the side of the pitch.

A minute is 50 seconds too long. I’ll keep saying it. Don’t stop the game at all. The bloke in the box is mic’d up to the ref, so he can just tell him in that short timescale if they’re was a clear error.
