I am surprised people on here can't see the Falcao signing for what it is. It's like the baby who cries bcos he's hungry so the mum sticks a dummy in his mouth to shut him up. Doesn't change the fact he's still hungry but will keep him happy. We've been crying for a defensive minded midfielder and a deep lying playmaker, or failing that a box to box type midfield general. Our attack and defence is relying on it. Instead we get given Falcao and ppl are happy?

Perfect summing up BinterBanter. I don't think he has the kudos of David Gill, and I doubt he ever will. By the way the suggestions earlier in response to Valley Graduate were tongue in cheek, except for Messi. We don't need him

With the signings, we have a top quality squad now, with ample cover. A box to box midfielder is still a must, and a central defender, but there is still over 4 hours to go. You never know, there could be more surprises!

Better then Costa. Costa was Falcao's bitch when they played together.

Who needs defenders with that fire power <whistle>

If Van Gaal scraped the 3,5,2 and went 4,3,3 you'd have a frightening side

    De Gea
    Rafael
    Rojo
    Evans
    Shaw
    Di Maria
    Blind
    Herrera
    Rooney
    Falcao
    RVP

with the likes of Carrick, Mata, Januzai, Jones on the bench <yikes>

@ Jip Jap Stam...Neither are strong enough individually to command that midfield. That may not be the case played together but that is going to be a real problem when one is injured. We needed an established marquee signing imo and we've failed to deliver. Yet again.

I hope he does stay. He's not the best but he's a United lad and will always run himself into the ground. Contrast the effort he put into the MK Dons debacle with Hernandez's sorry excuse for a performance.

Ofcourse, but we can say that about any signing including Fellaini in theory. But if you've seen them play you know them individually. If Herrera is injured, Blind won't be enough. And if Shaw is injured I wouldn't be surprised to see him at LB. There really isnt enough depth there. I'm surprised ppl can't see it.
