Our club is in the relegation zone and could be relegated whilst the sorry saga of what we are called and the lack of concessions continues.
The Allams agreed to meet the supporters because of the protest at the Forest match. The cause of that protest hasn't gone away it continues to simmer. It remains a gun to their heads. A gun that resulted in two meetings with supporters, including the Trust. The solution to our off the field problems is straightforward. Use the name Hull City and reintroduce concessions. We've had two meetings and for most supporters nothing has changed. Well that's not really true because we've had the transfer window and one signing and one loan signing.
On the twin cancers that are eating away at the clubs innards nothing very much has happened. The club still doesn't use our name in any meaningful way and we are no closer to the reintroduction of concessions then we were at the Forest game. Tonight they walked away from the meeting because of a threatened protest at the Sheffield United match. The Allams had two proposals on the table from the last meeting proposed by the Trust on the name guidelines and concessions. Grown ups would have ignored the threat and got down to the business of sorting our club out. Instead they walked away. They know as well as I do that if they seriously address the name and the question of concessions any protest at the Sheffield United match would be a damp squib. They have had plenty of time to consider the Trust's proposals and start the process of implementing them.
My conclusion is, despite the threat and the Allam Out scarves they had no serious intention of doing anything to heal the divide between themselves and the supporters. Yet another wasted opportunity can be chalked off.
Obadiah - you may well be right but, if what Ehab claims is true, we have just provided them with their “Get out of jail” card and for what? An ill advised article in the local press and a misguided and unprofessional act at a meeting between all the interested parties.
