Ehab Allam: Hull City vice-chairman promises 'fan-led' rebranding process

Hull City vice-chairman Ehab Allam says he will do "whatever the fans want" in the club's rebranding, but that they will have to meet two conditions.

In 2014, the FA rejected owner Assem Allam's proposal to change the club's name from Hull City AFC to Hull Tigers.

The Allams have been subject to a series of protests by City fans since taking charge in 2010.

On Wednesday, the club will hold another meeting with fans with the hope of improving their relationship.

"In the first two meetings I think we made some really positive steps in that we agreed to redesign the crest and involve the fans in that process so it'll be fan-led on the redesign," Ehab told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I've agreed to bring back concessions - we haven't got to the bottom of how that would look, but I've got a few conditions.

"As long as we can find a way to reduce the level of abuse in the tickets then I'm open to introducing the concessions again."

The vice-chairman said he is willing to use fan ideas for the club's rebrand, so long as the new design does not include "AFC", and so long as it is easy to use.

"I know that [AFC] is important to some fans but that's never been in the club's playing name. The club was registered 1904 with the FA as Hull City, full stop," he said.

"I will do whatever the fans want so long as it is prescriptive enough for my staff to understand what they can use and when.

"So for example you've just asked me is it ok to use Hull City or the Tigers? Well yeah, but then I've got the Tigers Hall of Fame and the people complained about that, so it's not prescriptive to use that or the other."
If the only condition imposed for us to be called Hull City again is no AFC on the badge, I'd take that.

Concessions is still the biggy for me, and I'm sure Geoff et al can suggest something sensible for that.

I know people will be cynical, but it's more than we've had for a while. If it turns out a load of smoke and mirrors, **** will, as the kids say, go down, I'm assured of that.

What a nob - but we knew that

He basically said it would confuse his staff if AFC was in the name.
Disrespectful little ****ing cut he is

**** off and get your tongue back up Allams arse you turncoat ****

He's toying with you again, how can you put into words that he and his staff can follow when and where to use Hull City or the Tigers? all it needs is a common sense approach but that's the big problem.
The best I can think of is for every use of The Tigers there should be 5 Hull City. As was said a little earlier the Hall of Fame was an ideal opportunity to make a change. It's going to be another come back to the next meeting with some proposals.
It’s complete nonsense, as we all know

Can't embed tweet, flummoxed.

Basically meeting cancelled immediately because upset about a HDM story. Bielby sez.

He's just playing games as usual. Nothing has changed he's still a grade A ****

Look at my avatar (and that of a few others) then tell me we were never called Hull City AFC.
The twat is playing his games yet again, and people are falling for it. No doubt influenced by the raised possibility of further embarrassment through protests (and maybe even worse). After all these months, what has actually changed? Nothing (other than putting back up a sign they took down during that period).
He's a total ****.
What needs doing is simple, could have been sorted in 5 minutes. Just reverse the stupid 'branding' changes, re-introduce concessions as they were (with appropriate measures to stop those abusing concessions), .... and then apologise to fans (their paying customers) for having been such ****s.
**** off Enob.

Is there a stream!!!!!??..... or can someone film it clandestinely...

There is a stream of both sides warming up in the car park.

Ehab and Assem are doing star jumps whilst the Supporters Committee are flexing their biceps and triceps. Bielby gave a sly middle finger towards Ehab whilst he thought he wasn't looking but he saw it.

That's why the meeting's cancelled. The HDM story is just a cover.

It was the best up warm-up in the history of football, rugby, athletics and Greco-Roman wrestling.
