Been off work for a couple of weeks, and decorating - gives me a chance to catch up on some music. I've also been reading Stuart Braithwaites auto-biography (guitar/vocals in Mogwai). For a couple of years people have told me I should listen to Slint...I'm embarrassed to say they are a band that passed me by at the time (although I was living in the jungle in Central America at the time, so hardly surprising). Anyway, Braithwaite kept going on about how much an influence on him they were, and I'd read that Black Country New Road also cite them as an influence, so thought I'd have a listen.....WOW, how I've never come across them before I don't know, but it's immense...the first album, Spiderland, is epic...

Fair to say Stuart Braithwaite had a bit of a wild side in the early years of Mogwai...a lot of acid, ecstasy, coke, weed and bucket loads of booze! No surprise they came out with tracks like this...

My son still remembers, as a young boy, this song blaring out of the car when we would drive off anywhere together singing along together.
Remains a favourite to this day.

Banging cover of a Stooges tune....wild video too - stay to the end....imagine being at a gig like this <yikes>
