That will teach me to read till the end. :)
<laugh> I am forever telling my kids when they follow recipes "read ALL the words". The same is often true in life. I'm lucky in that I can read much faster than I type so I've usually worked out which end of the stick I've got hold of before I hit post.
When Zlatan does miraculously sign for us though, I'll salute your prescience. :emoticon-0100-smile

People need to remember Martina was only signed because Mugabe got injured. Maybe we feel he will block the way of our youngsters so won't get a new contract. Like Fats and others I think he is decent bit not a starting rb.

On Chambers. It wouldn't be a loan.

Simply because he might generate new supporters and gets the profile of the club into areas other than football. New supporters don't come from a prime pool of people who are ready made and all knowledgeable about football. They are kids, teenagers or adults who want to be excited about something. Graziano has celebrity looks and habits, and when people talk about him it's not necessarily within the framework of football. So, whereas you might not care about attracting attention to the football club, the club might care.
Good point, very well made:azn:

Nevertheless, my other point, which was the main point really, still stands. Which was that basically, whilst I wouldn't mind if he left it would worry me that we would then have Jay Rod, who is beginning to have the look of someone who is never going to recover fully from his injury, and Austin, who, apart from one magical moment, hasn't made much of an impression yet.

So, if he does go I think we would need to replace rather than assume we already have the adequate fire power at the club.

Is that something you have heard, or an opinion?

Oh yeah, I did accept your point as well. Sorry if I spent my entire post making my point. ;)

Worked out OK for Bertrand....although I don't know if we had an option to buy, or it just worked out that way
We had an option to buy for £10m unlike Toby where we did not have an option to buy it was really just a loan agreement.
With the loan/option arrangement if it does not work out we simply don't exercise the option and the player returns to his original club at the end of the loan period

I thought we did have the option to buy with Toby, but we had to make the offer by a specific date, which we missed.
