Yeah, but Hasenhuttl did tell other players like Hoedt they were not in his plans. He’s been pretty open about giving Austin a friendly but firm nudge out the door.
I would say that with Djenepo signing, Boufal is the one who will go. He clearly is unhappy with riding the bench, and he probably does need to leave for his career. Hasenhuttl has no reason to hold a grudge as it wasn’t him Boufal walked out on, so if he wants to go then let him. There will probably some Spanish team that wants him if they can get him cheap.
You can only offload so many players at once, so if Elyounoussi wants to stay, I could see why Hasenhuttl would be noncommittal for now. He’s not IN the team, but he’s not out of the team. Like maybe 75% out of the door but until we bring in another player or Elyounoussi has had enough there seems like there could be some justification for keeping him around.
I think Sims may better off going on loan if possible. He’s demonstrated he has the ability but also clearly not the experience. Hasenhuttl is good about getting the young players some playing time and I think he should stay, but if Hasenhuttl thinks he needs more time than he can give him then who else is left? Nathan Tella?
