I've seen recordings of the protests of the 'fans' yelling that "We're not West Ham anymore" whilst all around there's scenes of them being more 'West Ham' than ever.

That ground really should be closed for the rest of the season. There's no way that the club can guarantee the safety of fans, officials or those on the pitch. The stewards are unable to control the rabble and it would seem that deployment of the police is the only possible way to ensure order is maintained. Once it gets to that point, the gates should remain closed...only that's letting the bastards get away from the horror show.
The whole thing was completely out of order but there was one funny bit that I saw on Youtube, when the mob were baying at Sullivan and Gold, there's one bloke on his own just shouting "Dildo, dildo".
