But the lad is 20 - the fact he can play alongside top class players like suarez and step up is still admirable.

I do agree with you though - Suarez carried our team last season and he improved the players.

He's done well no doubt but I don't see him having a massive impact for City. He'll play well in games where they are playing well and get dragged off when they are struggling as he just isn't the type of player to take the game by the scruff and go win it.

True - SAS occupied defences but again, it stemmed from Suarez. He created space for Sturridge as well. The guy was ridiculous last season. Now he was irreplaceable.

Once Neymar and Meesi understood Suarez they both benefitted from the space he creates, watching him last season made me think we were ripped off at £75 million.

he did gnaw the shoulder off a player at a world cup! we got a good fee. he is also 28... we should be grateful to have seen one good season out of him after all his issues and say thanks for signing a new contract and nearly doubling your value to us.

the saving grace of benteke is i know he can finish and finish well. the issues of mobility as guesswork and so is injury concerns.

we just don't know... but its not andy carroll who just missed the target all day... same as borini.... miss, miss, miss, get one, then go missing in the big game. Benetek socres when the chance comes.

As the little **** has now left can this thread be closed, or are we going to have a thread following the career of a someone playing for Man City?

The thread can probably be moved to the Man City board, instantly increasing their post count by 1000 times <ok>

Can he though? Most of his goals are either from headers or pens.

He has a 1 in 2 record at Villa, largely inflated by one good season - and this at a team that play through him and play to his strengths, and his conversion ratio is nothing special.

Not to defend Benteke (as I think we can get better for less) but using Villa stats is probably unfair. Lets not forget under Lambert they were ultra defensive barely getting out of their half in games, its not easy to score goals when your midfield and supply line is glued to the back four.
How many games did they go without scoring, surely those who are meant to get the ball to the striker have to take alot of the blame for that.

And do you have the stats across his time at Villa?

I may be wrong, I just read it somewhere that half his goals came from headers or pens. <ok>

thats like asking what did ach manager set up to do.

lambert hoofs it, sherwood said go attack.. results for benteke will be different.

This comes back to the point. what will he do for LFC.. well the stats astro posted shows he got a few of left and right foot too... he can finish chances. the question is what chances would he get. they don't all have to be donkey balls for 60 yards.

Shaw, Rojo, Blind, Herrera, Felliani, Falcao, etc? Not one of them had a Premier League medal, not to mention the guys you've signed this summer  [HASHTAG]#last[/HASHTAG]

On a pension scheme, Falcao was only a loan and the rest are too young <ok>
