There's a really funny tale of how Britain first got tea of its own. Initially we had to import it from China and its export was controlled, so a Scottish botanist named Robert Fortune dressed himself as a Chinese merchant, went to China and bought some plants and smuggled them out of the country. Took them to India, which was then part of the British Empire, and we grew our own.

Interesting... I actually read a different story (not saying it is correct). China wouldn't sell the plants to Britain because they wanted to maintain their monopoly over farming the plants. The governor of Hong Kong at the time tricked China by pretending to want to grow a "native garden" and asked for a whole bunch of plants (tea being one) hoping China would overlook it and supply it... They did and the plant was then cultivated and shipped to China.

Its only like eating a regular chocolate bar you stupid idiot <laugh>

Is it ****. There's 926 calories in a whole one. So your post lunch 'snack' was 463 calories - nearly 20% of your total recommended intake.

When you hit 36 and your metabolism slows down, you're going to end up a right fat **** <laugh>

So what you're saying is that if I ate 2 and a half chocolate oranges a day I wouldn't need to eat anything else?

That's my kind of diet.

No, 36 is when it starts going pear shaped - literally <laugh>

25-35 not much changes, 36 onwards the chunk sets in and bits start falling off.

Surely it depends more on your lifestyle and how active you are. Not everyone balloons up, nor do they suddenly start watching what they eat. I guarantee I'm a lot smaller than most on here. I do have a bit of unnecessary timber around the gut area but generally I'm in good shape and fitness. If I were to start gaining they'd I'd make a alteration. Basically, you're a bunch of old jealous batards <laugh>

I know plenty of middle aged plus people who are lean as ****. They see the inside of a gym a few times a week though like and have active lives doing a sport as well

No **** <doh>

Generally speaking people tend to do less strenuous exercise as the years advance, and if you continue to put away the same level of intake, then the combination of that, with the ageing process means that most will put on timber. It creeps up on you.
