Apparently not.

Many things have archaic names coined before they were fully understood, or taxonomy subsequently became more precise. Some are just named after the way they look or their habits.
A Hedge Sparrow isn't a sparrow. An Ant-Lion is neither an ant nor a lion, a Killer Whale is a dolphin, a White Rhino isn't white. Guinea Pigs, Crayfish, Sea lions, Hedgehogs.... how many more do you want? <laugh>

The Sperm Whale was named after a white sticky substance found in its head which early whalers thought was its sponk.

I know all of that Saint of course, I was just being difficult for once rather than my normal lovely good self

We had a blast of snow yesterday for about five minutes. Nothing changed though, we carried on as though it was a hot summers day [HASHTAG]#hard[/HASHTAG]
