Centipedes can have a varying number of legs from under 20 to over 300, but there is no centipede with exactly 100 legs.

There must be one out there with exactly 100 legs if it ranges from 20 to 300 though

"While the word centipede literally means “100-footed,” most centipedes do not have 100 legs. The number of legs a centipede has depends upon the number of body segments that make up its body, and this number varies by species. Centipedes typically have one pair of legs per segment."

So lets say this one on my leg had 100 legs and was in the minority, for the purpose of my 'joke'

    None have been discovered yet.

Most at centipedes have odd pairs though (49 pairs) for example, rare to find one with an even number of pairs <ok>

Of the 3,000 different types of centipedes on our planet, none have 100 feet. Some have 50 and some as much as 350.

They must have named the species on finding one with a 100 legs, seeing as it literally means 100 feet

Or they didn't bother counting properly and just made **** up, like Arsenal do with their attendances.

Next #funfact to blow your mind; no millipede has 1000 legs, and many have less legs than centipedes <cheers>
